robscar,
That 68 Lemans Sprint in CA is an interesting car!!!!! Very odd Color Combo with the Green Paint, white or Parchment Top with matching interior, but with the black dash and Carpeting. 68 A-body Spring 4-speed, wow very few were built, looks to have gauge package minus the Tach, and Power Steering, and if it is in as good a shape as it looks in the pic's, the price is not unreasonable. Reminds me of the HS car I had that started my fasination with these engines, but mine was a 69 Tempest 2 Door Sedan, Same Color, no vinal roof, no Power Steering 4 wheel drum brakes. It was fun seeing people look at the bench seat with the pick up truck style shifter!!! If I could find anouther 69 Tempest Sprint I would be very tempted to get back into this game!!!! Thanks for posting.

Back on Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-...#ht_742wt_1169 The first time I saw it listed the bid went to 13,655.55 with 45 bids. The second time I saw it listed, it sold for 14,000 with 46 bids. I do not know why it fell through. If my 05 was sold I would bid on it. I'm really liking the different colors of the interiors. Other than black that is. |

Looks like a pic of a 4bbl engine in a red car. Yet, he advertises this one as a 1bbl equipped car.

The 68 has been offered for over a year. The price drop makes it very tempting.
http://nwct.craigslist.org/cto/2713830782.html Not so tempting... http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=686874

I saw that 68 Lemans before. I would really like a Bird instead though. When was the 68 at Streetside listed for a higher price? Do you recall the price? There are so few that it is hard to get a idea of prices. Wasn't really looking for a vert either.
I recently talked to a guy about a 68 HO350 vert that was listed on ebay. Aleution (sp) blue with black interior. Beautiful survivor. Could have had that for considerably less that the one at Streetside. |

This one is mine. I feel like this is a really fair price for a good running OHC 6 and good 2 speed transmission. I sure wish someone would put it to good use, I hate to just let it sit in the corner of my shop. |

to quote"Nicely presented engine bay"
I see nothing nice about rusty water blown all over the motor and inside the air cleaner. Of note is the rare fuel filter with return built in. My guess is this is a very early 67.

I like the picture of the engine with the Vise Grips on the A/C bracket. Makes me want to plunk down $20,000 for that one. I do like the car, as it is a manual tranny Sprint with A/C! (not for that price though)

I agree 20K is a bit much of an asking price, and I also agree with the GTO emblem on the trunk!!!! Why? But an A/C equipped Manual Trans Sprint!!!! That is a rare beast!!!! I have only owned 1 Sprint with A/C, and it was a 66 Auto car with 3.08 gears and was a slug!!! I bet this one is more fun to drive.

And I’ll bet that the fuel line/filter function real efficiently slammed right up against the exhaust like that

That's factory?
I would think vapor lock would/could be an issue. ![]() '66 has a decent U turn line and support brace mounted on the carb that keeps the it up and away from the exhaust. I thought the '67's used the same?

I’m only questioning due to the very limited factory info on these engines.
I have based my configuration on the many early factory engine images and the stuff that was on my car when I took possession. But I'm always looking to get closer to factory whenever some new info appears and applies to my '66. ![]() ![]() I’m sure we all have seen many incorrect layouts, the most notable being the test mule '66 with the “Rubber” line running across the intake to the front of the engine?? I also have an early picture somewhere that shows a solid line but the basic configuration is the same as mine. I have seen mention of the filter with the return line used on AC cars but think this is for ’67 again can’t confirm 100% but am surprised they would run it so low and along the exhaust. I also know the filter on mine is correct for OHC but again think it’s a ’67 only thing. I just like the look over the cheapo filters Would love to see some more images of such.

Ok started thinking about where I got the B&W image from then remembered it was out of the Jan 1966 SAE report.
This is what helped me determine what would be a correct line layout. ![]() ![]() Again I know this isn’t LAW but it sure helped me out. I still would love to see anything showing a filter/vapor line layout. I think we should make this another post
