Default 2012 Trans Am at the Swap Meet

I went to the Moultrie Swap Meet today and, while I didn't find any parts, I did get to see this 2012 Trans Am.
I know it is not a real Pontiac and I know a lot of you will throw off on it but, I liked it. I like it a lot! Pictures don't do it justice.

I don't know how far you are from Tallahassee but that is where it's being produced.

To each his own everyone likes different things. I have an 09 Challenger R/T and it has that retro look, but the cars you posted are CRAPmaros in my opinion, but if you liked them, hope you enjoyed.

I like it. But, It's obvious that you would have to be really careful if you had to open the hood in any kind of wind.

Every time I see one of these "new" Trans Am's, the Camaro looks better and better.

Sometimes it's best just to leave the originals alone. You don't want to be laughed at while appearing in public.

The black one Phil posted looks a lot better than a Crapmaro IMO. Only thing that looks good about the white one is the young lady holding the hood down. LOL

Thanks for posting the pictures. Was it crowded in Moultrie? Who in Tally is producing these cars?? What is the asking price?

Talking Trans Am Truckster

Does it get any better than this for future value and collectability???

From Steve Martin’s movie “The Jerk” (Note the George Barris signature).

This thread has strayed from the OP's point of view, but I also happen to like the new Camaros and the T/A's based off them. You have to remember that without the original Camaro, there would be no Firebird, or Trans Am. Pontiac wanted something different with the Banshee, but GM said NO! So they worked with the already set-in-motion Camaro and we got the Firebird, and eventually the Trans Am, which were GM's response to the wildly popular Mustang.
As for performance, the LS engines are pretty damn awesome! 20-30 years ago you would have had to build a marginally streetable car to post the times that some of the newer Camaro, GTO, Vette, and G8 GT/GXP's are putting up, and you don't have to sacrifice creature comforts or decent fuel mileage.

Here's a link to the company: http://transamdepot.com/
No, it was not crowded at all. The weather was beautiful but the cars and the people just did not show up. I would guess about 1,000 cars on display and that is small. Last fall there were over 3,000. Hopefully, the November show will be better.

Love it. An improvement in my opinion. I'll repeat the word opinion for obvious reasons. I don't understand the over the top revulsion some feel about it, other than the "elite" odor in the air. Please don't over-react to that statement. It was stated for a reason other than what you probably assume. Ask yourself, vwhy would you publicly display such disdain for an automotive creation that almost mirrors what GM did for decades corporately. These guys have taken a capital risk to manufacture what you and others clamored for and EXPECTED from GM. I suspect that taste( subjective by the way), has less.to do with this than a feeling of encroachment in to some folks "authenticity". I'm not slamming anyone here, your welcome to your opinion, but to me, just as the original Firebirds were an improvement on Camaros, this is an improvement to me. Nuttin' but love, Tommy

If you like or don't like the Trans Am then what are your feelings on this one?
