It must have taken a hit on the right side,as BOTH R fender & door are replacements.

Body color paint under hood & lack of wrinkle paint on steering wheel hub.

Bonus points for plastic lower valance.

I can't get over the "Baja 1000" look..

saddly, most that get new springs end up like that.

same as others, i wouldn't kick it out of my garage, but i would fix a few things;
paint the intake
unpaint the bottom of the hood
put on the right short spoiler end pieces
i like the chrome valve covers, but they are wrong
fix the pass door, not that hard
find a replacement aircleaner(i have an extra, but the parts place sells repos)
install driver side exhaust manifold heater shroud, and tube to aircleaner

does the 72 have or need the console clips for the seatbelts? not sure on that one.

Depends on if it has the early style seatbelts or the later ones (post Jan 1st of 72)

thats what i was thinking, but the only 72 i have had was for parts several years ago.

72 base bird. except for bad quarters it was really nice. kept the white interior, 72 rust free doors, sold the front clip, then just stripped it down to a shell and junked it. used most of the 72 nuts and bolts to put a 73 TA back together.

it was standard. seats are in my spare room, door panels are in my garage attic. been thinking of using a 73 bird body i have to do a blue/white everyday driver.

The last TA Nats I attended was in '07. A guy had a beautiful 71 white blue interior, no option TA. Literally the PHS invoice was blank. It was an automatic car so with no console it had a column shift. The owner (and I think it may have been a 1 owner) said it was ordered new to be drag car, so no options.
Now that car was Cool!

455HO...7F6 head questions.

From the info I gathered, looks like I will need a HO specific rear upper A/C compressor bracket, do the '73-'74 SD's use the same bracket and does anyone re-pop them?

Can a non HO bracket be altered to work? (I don't have any brackets or the Compressor yet so I can't check)....anyone have a good pic of this bracket?

Barry Martin (Sonic Motors) had the bracket repro'ed, they are just '71-72 HO application. Before he had the repro HO rear brackets stamped I used to mod one of the Pontiac Dport rear braces with sections off another GM application bracket, cutting, grinding, welding, grinding, priming, little bodyfiller. lot of time involved.

Upper dipstick tubes are also different than D-port. PY had the '72-74 roundport version done, & its cheap. '71 HO's are another animal. A/C application 71 HO A-bodys & F-bodys were actually different from each other, as well as the dipstick.

Thanks guys, I found Barry Martin's ebay page, Sonic Motors.. so I'll give him a call. Trying to put the A/C back on this car has turned into my own little nightmare but I'll get it done.

Here's some pictures of Sonic Motor's repro bracket next to an original one. The repro is virtually identical, and would be undetectable in my opinion to an original.
