Tom, it's the tires, they aren't very tall. Here's a tall tire.

I just measured 1969 Ram Air's convertible (which happens to be in my barn
) and it measures 27" in back/27.5" up front. Just what the chart said, 1/2" difference. Something not right on mine, aside from tire height. Thanks folks

It might be a '68 problem. You might want to sell that '68 and step up to a '69!

No one is asking the most important question........how much fuel
was in the gas tank when the picture was snapped? If the tank was full, the stance is normal. If it was near empty, you've got a problem. With correct springs, these cars are slightly higher in the rear than the front with a low gas tank, and slightly lower in the rear than the front with a full tank.Ames sells Detroit Springs, which are the wrong height somewhere about 90 per cent of the time. Moog replacement springs will get you the exact correct height every time. |

My front rocker height is good, according to chart below. My tires are 25" high, which 1" lower than the tires on the burgundy '69 that's pictured. So I think it just looks high up front. I'm going to order a set of Moog's and see what happens.
FYI, they're $67 with free shipping on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOOG-5401-Su...#ht_1314wt_931 Paid 2X that from Ames...and they may not be right? |

Keep us posted I am curious to see how the 5401 looks, I am looking to replace all 4 springs with Moog 5372 front, 5401 rear, and like you are concerned about the height.

I look at my car overall and it looks low in the rear, but then I focus on just the rocker panel and it's more or less level. Either way, you're not the only one! |
