Yes pitch is correct for Tempest. Pontiac (B-Body) was almost level.
There should be aprox 1/2 space from the rear rim to top of Fl. Hard to tell from the pic you may be a bit high. Don't know if it's poss but you may be getting some sort of back pressure? When is the last time you cleared the lines?
