Getting there..finally got the motor back after 25 months, 2 weeks ago. Fired it up last week, doing some under hood odds and ends now, trying to locate early 73 emissions stuff, washer bottle bracket, etc..you know, that fun stuff.

I inquired with the screen printer on shelf life, and I could not get definitive information, but I can offer this:

The NOS stripes maintained their integrity for 40 years. As you know from my rants on here the thing that affects the stripes most from age is the backing paper and transfer paper. These new stripes will be produced on 'cast' vinyl vs. a less quality 'calendered' vinyl. The materials made today would have to be equal or better than the material the original stripes were produced on back in the day.

So, I believe the shelf life will only be limited by the transfer paper's life, and as long as stored flat in a cool dry location, they should last for years.

For the black/white stripes for a blue TA I'm at 20 sets so far and one custom order (hood and bird only).

The letters are ready Stripes are scheduled for production next week, week of April 16.

During production next week we will also be producing blue/black gradient proofs.

I reached out to PY. I spoke to Mike? He indicated he would have someone get back to me, but I haven't heard back. If anyone knows someone that knows someone, I would appreciate a little help making contact with someone there.

Who owns this picture? It's a cool shot and I'd like to use it in branding. If you have a high resolution version of it, and don't mind me using it, please email it to me at [email protected]

Copycats welcomed If anyone has a similar type shot to consider I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Well, more good news to report. I spoke to Mike last week and today Ed from our host Performance Years phoned.

I'm very proud to report Performance Years is an Official Dealer of these stripe sets and will be purchasing sets from me for their customers.

How cool is that!

Thank you PY and thank you to those who reached out to PY for me on behalf of these products (I know who you are )

That news is cool beyond words, Greg!

Thanks again for making a correct and proper (and MUCH needed) reproduction "part" happen.

You, my friend, ARE the man!

Are they going to sell them for the same price as you, or are you now only going to sell through them? ...?

We discussed this. I'll be selling the first or second runs to all of you that have made requests here. This will help me recover my development sunk costs. Then we'll turn them over to PY for inquiries from here after that.

Neither have called, but I may consider supplying to Stencils and Stripes.

165th, I bought a reproduction emission sticker as well as a 70-72 stripe kit and while working on my car I got a couple of drops of hot oil on the emission sticker and nose bird, took the ink right off on those spots. Possible fix? (not to repair the existing obviously).

UPDATE:
I have great news to report (those of you with Cameo White TA's, you may want to listen in too)!

The last hurdle on this endeavor has been GM licensing. It's difficult to license a one off product that will not have a large volume of sales. This is proving to be challenging and expensive. The good news is I should have it sorted out by weeks' end

Unfortunately, due to the cost to license, I'm going to have to tweak the sales price to $408 to cover this higher than anticipated cost. I hope everyone understands as you will still be receiving the highest quality stripe on the market at a competitive price that is Made in America.

Now the great news: White Stripes for Lucy Blue TA's and Blue Stripes for Cameo White TA's are in production. Expected sales release is the week of May 21!

The blue stripes development caught up to white stripes during these last few weeks while sorting other details. One thing I may still need is an updated measure of the interest for the blue stripes. There's not as many showing interest in these so far compared to the white stripes, and I just want to be sure it's not because originally they were further out in production than the white stripes.

I'll follow up later this month with purchase instructions.
Thanks everyone!

Add a dollar and you'll match the current catalog price. (Ames)
