Bryan - the list is short. At the moment it is 1 3/4" only in mild steel for:
70-81 Firebird and 68-73 GTO/Lemans/Tempest 64-67 GTO/Lemans/Tempest These are $495 a set uncoated. Coating is the responsibility of the buyer OR I personally can arrange to have it done at a place near Ron. Ron himself is not offering the coating right now. Next on the table with some orders having been placed already but no deliveries yet are 67-69 Firebird 2" version for 70-81 Firebird and 68-73 GTO/Lemans/Tempest Stainless steel is an option we were hoping would have been available by now but isnt yet and we dont have an estimated date at this time. Options that are available right now are oval collectors for an additional $45, and reducers (even 3" to 3" usually requires a reducer, but 3" to 2.5" definitely does) are $20 a pair. If the buyer prefers a ball joint/socket adapter those can be purchased and Ron will weld them onto the collector side. Same with any other type flange a buyer prefers. Glad to hear they are there safe and sound David! |

If he is going to do stainless, he needs to get a TIG and he needs to back purge while he welds, or it wont be worth having. There is a lot to welding stainless right, and if its not done right, I dont think it'll hold up.

He knows all that too. The biggest problem right now is his bender wont bend the stainless smoothly. So far.

I paid for mine 04-07-2012 and received them 05-03-2012 and that's international shipping and a few days of added delay because I asked for Ron & Deanna to order gaskets and ship 'm with the headers to me.
So if you're hesitant to order a pair for yourself I hope me posting this here makes it easier for you to place that order. My thanks to Aron, Ron and Deanna. I'm very happy with my headers, they're a beautiful product. thank you http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...O/IMG_5073.jpg

I haven't ordered any but I have to say they look great and I might consider it if it weren't for the big mess this whole deal is. It blows my mind that people who gave their money years ago still don't have headers but people who order and pay now are getting them? I don't think I'd run my business like that. If I gave my $ a long time ago and didn't have my headers I'd be pissed.

Your post summarizes this entire thread pretty well. I have a set and am pretty happy with them. If you want a set, like you stated, you will get them. They are nice.

I am probably a good person to talk to about ordering, as I have been trying to help out.....BUT, Ron has been busy for a little over a week with something else. Orders should be rolling out again soon. Last I knew of were a little over a week ago.
Tony, I understand that it doesnt make much sense the way it works. Its not any business model I know of. But for Ron it was the only way he had to try to do these headers again. The people owed headers from 5 yrs ago do not get headers at all if there are no new orders for headers, and to keep new orders rolling in you have to keep delivering. Its a crazy and frustrating thing. But if you have read this thread then you know even those old orders from years ago are rolling out one by one. For those who have emailed me recently about orders, I am just waiting to hear back from Ron that he is ready and I'll contact you. |

So I assume if I order now there will be no issues with receipt of the headers? I have been following this thread all along (years) and I can't help but feel the frustration from the old order people, it just makes me tentative.

classicdriverman...send me your # again by pm please.
Tony, that is correct. Its frustrating to us all that it is taking this long, but at least the old ones are still slowly going out. Crazy. But its a fact that it takes 3 new orders a month just to keep the doors open, and beyond that all the flanges, tubing and supplies for the old orders have to be paid for. But it is still happening one by one. oldblueponcho is one here who ordered in 2005 I believe, and he got his a while ago. He wants to order another set now. |

How much for a set for a 1979 Trans Am 400 4 Speed ceramic coated?
What can I expect for lead time? Also - will I need to modify anything to make them fit? |
