Default Van Halen

I saw VH in Saint Louis tonight, pretty good show.
Cool and the Gang opend, played for 45 mins, they were good.
VH played for over 2hrs. I don't know much off the new album at all but I enjoyed the whole show, esp the old stuff. It was my 3rd time seeing Dave. I wish they woulda let Wolfgang off the leash so he could wail like Eddy..

VH, with special guest Cool and the Gang?

Seems like kind of an odd pairing....

Probably the only group that would sign on to tour with them.

We saw the 3rd show in Indy back in early March. I am a die hard VH fan but Dave should give it up, he just looks like someone's Grandpa trying to act like a 20 year on stage and just can't hit the note like he used too. Just sounds alot like a monotone scream or yell.
They also really miss/need the backup vocals of Michael Anthony, he was a key person in the "sound" of VH during the Dave and Sammy era's that people don't give him much credit for. The 2 brothers can still play though!!

Yeah, I agree it was a odd pairing but it was fairly dare I say, Kool.
All the guys but Wolfgang are gettn up there in age. Dave even joked about it onstage saying he was damn sexy back in 82..
I think he did fairly well, a ton better when I saw him an Sammy play years ago, his voice was totally shot then.
We still got to see Dave do 4 kicks and 2 splits. haha
It would take me 50 jager bombs a night to get to Daves level of just being Dave.
It sucks that he isnt young anymore buut its still kinda cool even tho things aren't perfect...

Default Winnipeg VH Concert

Great concert in Winnipeg. Considering the age of these guys, wow can they ever perform.

Check out link for full pics and review.

Well said about Michael Anthony's vocals- very under rated- I saw VH at the "new" Boston garden back in March and it was good - decent set list - "Hear about it later" and "Women in Love" amongst others.

I saw Chickenfoot last night at the Orpheum in Boston - which is an old theatre/ opera house type venue and right away Michaels back up vocals produce that "sound" you speak of. Fun show, not crazy overpriced tickets, good show if you get a chance to see it.

saw them with Sammy in the 80's, Live without a net. Its was THE best show, was even just slightly better than Pink Floyd,( delicate sound of thunder) and that rocked!

I was under the impression that the kid can hardly play the instrument.

Note the NON-canceled dates. There are 14.

Bill you'll be a lot more impressed with Chickenfoot than you will be with V/H.

Satriani along with Smith and Anthony is better than Eddie with Alex and the kid. I don't dig Sammy's lyrics in the band, but the sum of the parts is better.

Chickenfoot would be my choice too.
