Default Poor FoMoCo . . .

http://www.autonews.com/article/2012...306209805/1219

To be fair, Ford is building some killer cars, trucks and powertrains, but nobody is perfect.

I'll bet some heads ROLLED in automatic transaxle and infotainment engineering departments!

Gotta LOVE Mini, Fiat and Smart at the bottom o' the heap, LOL!

The first and only Ford I have ever bought new was never in the shop for ANYTHING except oil change. I can not say that for any GM I have had yet I did buy another GM within the last month.

Never buy an Infinity!!!

So a dashboard gadget drags down the entire rep of the company?Of course GM's ratings were up-thay had no other place to go except off the page.

I think we've gone way too far with making cars more complicated than they need to be. I was in a new 7 series BMW yesterday because I needed to move it to get my truck out of the driveway & I couldn't figure out how to start the damn thing! Heaven help me if I needed to use the radio or heating system with that mouse wheel thing they've got!

There are laws against using a phone that I talk to and it dials the number while I hold it to my head, but there are no laws against all of these gadgets they're installing in cars now - talk about distracted driving!

If somebody would just come out again with a car that uses a key and a radio with two posts for dial & volume I think they would have a HUGE market!

Ford FORCES the user to utilize touch screen and voice commands to perform what would be simple, easy tasks controlling HVAC, entertainment, NAV, etc. (if there were real buttons and knobs) into a S L O W, painful process.

Hopefully the Caddy "CUE" system will be better!

CB, you obviuosly read WAY too much press fodder about General Motors. We'll simply have to agree to disagree about GM products. GM has had their trials and tribulations, just like ALL automakers have!

Damned straight!

Just wait 'til folks have to pay to repair some of this garbage, after their warranty runs out. OUCH!

Does it? The only thing that Ford has/had that comes close to a Grand Sport is the Ford GT.......I can't afford that $175K bad boy.

I will say that GM did hire the top engineer for the Ford NSync system and the Ford radio/phone/nav is far better than what GM now has. I suspect that will change in the next few years with this new guy on board. I did not have a chance to see the Ford system that your link was talking about so I can't speak for that.

I'm not saying the GM system is bad but I'm having a time trying to figure it out.

Well, it appears that the Government is currently building higher quality vehicles than FoMoCo, correct?

Am I right, or am I right?

Lloyd would be out of business if he didn't have something to fix.

I mis-stated that. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

With several more years in development, I'm certain it will be better, MUCH better.

That said, I'm NO fan of voice activated or touch screen controls for radio and HVAC control!

I am very discouraged with GM these days. I will never purchase a new GM or their Chinese crap again. Ford took no bailout and the truck line is superior to GM. But lets not start a pee pee match.

BTW: Great looking '75!
