Marino's sounds familiar is that right on the main downtown section? (My 68 Bird lost a fuel pump up there about 10 yrs ago after a Firebird show.)

BTW I was in Rome/Camden area last week(Thompson Corners in Florence on Tug Hill actually). Muggy. 85 degrees and it felt worse than the 99 on my back porch now. Humidity was never less than 65%... reminds me of Florida

I miss Hoffman Hot Dogs... rumor up there is they will soon be distributing nationally. Too much beer and soda in the cooler this trip so no Gianellis or Hoffmans this trip. I think my daughter is going up next month. I'll have to have her load up for me.

Sweet tea everywhere down here. Even McDonalds has it in a large jug.(not fountain crap)

My landlord went up to NY where his wife came from I think. They went to a nice restaurant and he placed his drink order. It came in a stemware glass and he asked why he got that. It turned out that he ordered "iced tea", but his accent ordered Asti, as in Spumanti.

Marino's has since moved. They're two blocks off main street across from Congress Park. Places like that do good no matter where they move to. That Firebird show has out grown the museum grounds. They've moved just south of Saratoga to Malta. Hoffman hotdog, are they the red dogs?

Yea, they got sweetened up there. Mayor Bloomberg doesn't have any jurisdiction upstate yet.

Maggiano's in Nashville does not disappoint. Just off of I-440 at West End. Barely west of Vanderbilt. Bring your Italian appetite and high expectations. Pricey, but not stupid- a great value. You'll take at least one more meal home with ya for leftovers..

IF you're looking for REALLY GOOD Italian food in Nashville, there's ONE word......Valentino's!! DEFINITELY not cheap, but worth EVERY penny!! Best Italian this side of Roma and Napoli........

My Daughters ex fiance worked at an Italian restaurant over on the west end area. They got closed by the FBI... the son of the restaurant owner caused the legal problems. Cant remember name or if they reopened.

Hoffman hot dogs are german style non kosher in natural casings, hot dog color. Price Chopper is where I usually get them, but found most everywhere in CNY. I have found them in Albany area when I was working there. They also have their "Coney" which is whiteish in color and texture is hot dog. The flavor is like a cross between a breakfast sausage and a bratwurst. Both are best cooked on the grill. A friend from mid TN was skeptical "all hot dogs are similar". He was quite surprised when he tried them.... saw him Friday night... he was hoping I brought some back.
