I been wondering the same thing. Still a long ways to go. Time is NOT on my side. I also need a real place to work on it. Not just one side of a 2 car garage. No room to work around it. If I had the $$ I would send it to Scott T and get him to do it all.

![]() Oh and stay tuned for more pictures tomorrow. I will be sandblasting the door area, winsheild area, trunk area and back window. I might try to get to the pass side rear quarter stripped so the car is all stripped down to bare metal.

Here are some more pictures I took after scraping out all the seam sealer and more sand blasting and priming until body work is done. I also just bought a 1971 Lemans sport I will be taking the steering column bucket seats, wheel wells ext. I will be putting the column out of my car in it so I will be selling a complete car minus seats and wheels wells if anyone is interested. I will be having it shipped to me in the begining of August if all goes right.
![]() ![]() This why you scrap out the seam sealer before painting. LOL ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm hoping to have the body off the frame next month so I can have the frame sand blasted with the 12 bolt I just bought.

Not much new to report. More stripping of paint and sandblasting. Been gathering parts here and there. Hopefully Chris will chime in and fill in the rest of the blanks.

That car is rather solid. Keep up the work and the pictures.

Honestly giving up sounds like the best thing for me to do in my opinion but I just have too much money in it. It's a little depressing that all the money I have dumped into this heap and it still looks the same.

Well the Lemans is pushed in front of the shop and I think some metal patching will be going on soon. I'm pretty excited for this because it's progress I've needed to see for my sanity. My friend’s dad is one of the best fabricators I've ever seen so the wait is worth it. I was never one for building a car to this degree because I’m so impatient, but as they say (good things come to people who wait).

Haven't touched the car since February, hoping to get back on it in October when it isn't 90+ degrees every day. A big box of parts came from Butler Performance about a month ago. The 72' WS shortblock is at the machine shop currently. The bores finished up at .040" over. Will post pictures of a complete long block in about 2-4 weeks hopefully. Hoping to get the frame completely restored/rebuilt, engine/trans/exhaust installed into the frame, and the rest of the metal work done over the winter. Final body work and paint in the spring of next year.
As it stands right now, the car will be Sundance Orange, not sure on the interior color yet. Power will come from a 72' WS 400, mostly stock. (some oiling tricks, and about one point more compression) A Super T-10 4 speed purchased from a member here will be employed. (2.64 1st gear) And the factory 3.08:1 posi 12 bolt pirated from my old 72' Monte Carlo will round out the running gear.

Subscribing...
Love the Sundance Orange, it really pops, with or without a top on it. Good luck with your project, and will be following along! Next spring I will be starting on my driver, it's time for a full refresh. .

Major stumbling block today, both sets of heads I have are cracked in the exhaust seat. Does anyone have a GUARANTEED good set of 7K3 heads they are willing to sell? One of the two sets I have came from a member here. I can't afford to get burned again. The short block is done, really need a set of heads ASAP.

The "goods" from Butler Performance a few months back...
![]() ![]() ![]() And more recently, the nearly completed long block... ![]() 72' WT 400 .040" over, KB 2 valve relief FT pistons, Butler I beam rods, Melling 067 cam, 7K3 heads from Butler - milled to 86cc. Should net a hair over 9:1 SCR.
