Not that I watch that, ahem..but my kids do.

I loved those episodes. Whne my daughter watched those shows years ago, I would always sit and watch them with her.

X2 I grew up watching him also. I liked him in Convoy one of my favorite movies. RIP

At 7-8 years old, I took the fastest bath in my life when my dad made me do it during a commercial break of the Sunday night airing of "Emperor of the North" back in 1974-5(?). I loved trains as a kid and that movie really blew me away. Borgnine was perfect as the sadistic conductor.

It was 1973. And I agree. Sadly Ernest Borgnine was often typecast into bumbling fool rolls. His performance as the evil rail boss "Shack" in
"Emperor of the North" is one of his finest works in my opinion..

I will forever remember him as the baddest, maddest cop in Convoy. May he rest in peace!

Convoy and Smokey and the Bandit were the 2 movies responsible for my fascination with american cars and trucks (read; MACKs)
As as 10 yo I started out as a Mack truck geek which gradually evolved into being obsessed with everything American with 4 or more wheels.

(Someway I still wish for a huge storage facility and a Truckerdrivers license so I could park all my Pontiacs and a few early/mid seventies Mack Trucks too).

Ernest Borgnine was also a Shriner so he really did care about children besides being a truly great actor.

Ernest Borgnie got his start at the Barter Theater about 10 miles from here. He did everything asked of him besides acting. He often came back and a few years ago they had a reception in his honor. Big turn out for a humble man.

"Beginning in 1946, he spent four years honing his craft at the Barter Theatre in Abington, Virginia. While there, Borgnine encountered his first professional acting experience, initially appearing in bit parts, and eventually graduating to starring roles."
