Dominic, hope you don't mind me being nosey, but what wes the cost of your windshield with the date code.

I've got to do mine this summer and want a proper coded windshield. Im just quessing, but would the code be a week to a month before the car was built? My 66 was built 4th week of March 66..... in Baltimore.

Windshield was 180.00 plus 50 for the original date coded logo
My car was 3rd week of January and my date code was CA
I dont have my book right now so I cant tell you month.
I can get you that info tomorrow

My glass date code is CA which is November 66

Thanks for the link Dominic.

Looks like mine is more than likely a replacement. Shaded Soft Ray AS-1 M23 l-67 and read from the inside, not outside like I've seen on most cars. Not sure tho if it's an I or L as it looks to be a lower case letter. There are no other codes than these and they are copied as they appear. Month could be either March or June.

Getting ready to paint my trunk and complete all the misc. like jack, spare tire etc.
Can anyone tell me where the seam starts and stops for the trunk weatherstripping?

I was allways told that it starts/ends 6" - 8" inches left of the latch when looking to the front of the car. and this 19k mile lemans is like wise,, good luck with the trunk spatter

The paint should be here tomorrow.
I called them and they are sending the paint and hardner like we talked about.
I have a 2.5 tip too so it should go on nicely
I will email you some pics after its done. Thanks for the info on the paint

My 67 has it right in the center, with the original two white lines still visible top center

I'll get you pictures tomorrow. My 67 Lemans took gold in the survivor class at St Charles couple weeks ago.

The rubber has two lines and as I understand, when it was installed the two lines went center top ( or to the center front of the opening) & the seam ended up where ever the ends came together

Question regarding the AC Cowl Box. With the Fender off, I can sort of see the attaching studs/nuts. What is your opinion on being able to remove this (on a '64 GTO) to replace the Heater Core (factory AC car) w/o removing Fender?

From what I've heard, it's almost impossible to do w/o removing Fender or cutting an access hole in Fender Skirt.

Appreciate your thoughts.

Not impossible, because I have done it without removing the fender or cutting a hole, BUT you'll wish you had by the time you're done.

It's that one damned bolt at the bottom outside of the box to the firewall that is the Beach.

Be very careful with that kick panel to heater box seal if it's still there. Not reproduced and it is a fun thing to try to duplicate.

Put a Murray heater core in there from O'Reillys and forget about it.

Here are the requested pictures of the original trunk seal on my 67 Lemans. If you want larger pics send me your email address to [email protected] & I'll send them to you.

On another subject, I just replaced my heater core. I jacked the car up, loosened the outer fender all the way around. I unbolted the inner fender and was able to turn it toward the outside of the car until it came out of the car. Time consuming but not difficult. I put tape between the door & outer fender to protect both. Wasn't hard to see where the fender bolts had been for the last 45 years & I bolted it back together based on that.

and one more pic of the two painted white lines used to center the seal at the top of the trunk opening to start the installation. My 71 has one white & one orange stripe. I duplicated them on the replacment seal with paint pens..
