Also in 1972 Pontiac dropped the price of the Formula to $3,221 in the US but kept it at $3,453 in Canada, at the 71 price level, so I had to revise that as well.

Formula was $3,288 in dec 71 I can show you a lesser optioned cars sticker if you want to make a US sticker?

Please send me what you got. A Canadian Pontiac fan familiar with the cars from that era was the one who told me about the Canadian destined cars and how GM of Canada kept the Firebird's higher price in place even after GM of US dropped it for the 72 model year cars. Very tricky of them to try to grab another couple hundred bucks.

Yes the "Stucker" hehe doesnt have the "paragraph" its a aaa sticker Steve but aside from the HO stuff, prices look like others I have researched. This one has a similar date to your car
Its a LUCY car. Probably looked like Lloyds at one time

Yes, it is a members car. I believe I owned it at one time long ago. I was recently going to buy it back. Its had some mods and doesnt look like what it is. ( from what I saw recently) Also researching these cars with Wu3 and with a TH400.

the "Zeros" are the reason why I questioned Steve's "rendering" with the Zeros.( no offense Steve) I dont believe that it is correct, and same goes for this SD sticker. Original dealer order forms can help verify, and other original stickers.

Just got done perusing John Gunnel's book Pontiac Trans AM 1969-1973.

He shows the 72 and 73 prices for options with a .00 for the Retail Cost.
The Dealer Costs wer with varying cents.

Possible this is where the prices came from?
Or were they actually .00?

The other years (69-71) were varying cents like would be expected.

In the TA it was No Cost Option.
Along with the tranny options, posi, etc.

In the article, it says the wide ratio 4 speed (M20) was available on reg 455 TA but std in the SD TA.
The close ratio M21 was standard on the 455 TA.



Another seque, in the 1974 new model parts catalog, (Nov 1973 edition)
it doesn't show any B/W tranny.

There's also some .50's. '73 has the rounded off numbers too. Probably started with the '72 model year at some time.

While you guys argue over dollars and cents, I'm getting back to work! :-)

I finally repaired that original set of silver grills from the Formula (the ones with the hood latch hole fiberglassed over as a theft deterrent).

Actually it wasn't that bad. I went to drill a starter hole in the fiberglass patch from the inside, out. I applied some pressure with the drill...and the plug just popped off! I guess he made a square plug out of fiberglass and then used some type of epoxy that didn't bond very well with the plastic. So, all I had to do was some light sanding and then reshot both grills with a light dusting of argent.

Even though I do like the blacked out Trans Am grills better, I figured I'd make the purists happy by putting the original silver grills back in.
