Very subjective...I've never considered that body shape of Porche to be "beautiful"....effective, yes...but not pretty.

And how can you have a list of the most beautiful cars without including a Chord 812 Sportsman?

It's hard to believe something like a Duesenberg didn't make that list. All the muscle car era cars are my favorite but some of those 30's car are just beautiful works of art.

What about Raymond Loewy's '53 Study?

Bob, when I saw the thread title the '53 Loewy Coupe was the first car that came to mind. My dad loved that design and turned me on to it when I was very young. Compare it to the GM, Mopar, and Fords at the time and you see that it is many years ahead of its time in styling. Still attractive today.

When they were new, I thought the Challenger was better looking than the Cuda. But neither can hold a candle to the '53 Stude.

I owned a '73 TA in the late '70s and told my dad I thought it was an equally timeless body style compared to the Stude. He didn't care for the TA spats and spoilers which he thought were ugly, but he agreed the early 2nd gen Firebirds were handsome.

As to what I saw on the list, seemed they tried to find cars that had some "significance" beyond style/beauty.

Lists like that are always subjective.

I could find fault with every pick they made. But I wouldn't reject any of them if somebody was giving out gifts.

The only car that I even remotely consider as beautiful is the AM DB5. My personal fav of beauty has to be a 59 Eldorado. The fins and the overall length of that car always leave me in awe. I love it.

The 66-67 Riviera is my favorite GM car of all time. I had one (67) in high school and it was the most comfortable, fast and fun car ever! The cars they listed should be in the sexiest catagory, not beautiful. Beauty is always more than skin deep, you need neck snapping torque and a howling V8 to really be beautiful.

I agree that the Riv's are pretty sharp looking. IMO the 66 Toronado and 67 Eldorado belong too.

Not a bad list, but something tells me the author drives a new Dodge Challenger, probably purple, so that places the 70 Challenger on her list. Not that the Challenger is bad looking, but having a Dodge Challenger on the list seems a bit suspicious, especially when you're talking about the most beautiful cars in history, in the world.

I personally would add the 70-73 Trans Am (or Formula) too, but there's no way a Yahoo blogger would acknowledge an old Pontiac. I'm sure in her opinion, Trans Am's conjure up visions of Cletus with a Firebird up on blocks in her front yard.

I would consider the 1955 Cadillac, which exuded class and grace, and was (at the time) a symbol of the American Dream, a dream that's long gone now.



I would also consider the 1969 Mustang Boss 429. Like the 70-73 Trans Am's, they look good from every angle, and was the peak (in my opinion) of Mustang design. Great roofline, graceful lines, bad attitude, great race car.



I wouldn't place the 66 Olds Toronado on any list, except alongside the Aztek, Cube, and Juke.

Any list like this is purely subjective. It's like asking guys to name the top 10 most beautiful women in history. You could have 1000 guys supply lists, and no two lists would be the same.
