Ron,
You were very smart to buy up those nos parts when you could. As you know, its difficult to find much of anything today for these cars and when you do its quite expensive. That's a beautiful restoration, nice work! Great story on the pillows too. Thanks for sharing. Grant |

Grant,
The window sticker lists code: PK2 G78X14 WW Fiberglass Tires. TRR $32.65 That's all I could find on the tires. Ron |

That's awsome! I really would love to have a hurst GP. Before I started my resto, l was really contemplating on finding a husrt and using my stock pile of nos parts on that. I knew that car would never mean as much to me as my first GP does. Great cars you have!!

The PK2 tire option seemed to be fairly common. My '71 also had this tire option when new, but I don't have the original spare in my car to verify. I do have a close-up photo of another (original owner) member's car here when new and it too had the PK2 tire option that shows the solid dual pin-white Uniroyal tire. Possibly different tire vendors were used throughout production? Anyway, I like that Firestone you have... that's a great looking tire! Grant |

Heres some pics of what im working on, if any of you have read my post on my car its a tribute car im doing in honor of my father. I lost him to Diabetes 3 years ago and this is the very car he taught me most everything i know about cars on and it means alot to me, My wife surprised me a year after his death and had gotten her own personal loan and found the car and bought it back for me and gave it to me on none other than Fathers Day. She has always fussed about time i spent on cars and money but this car she has not said one word as she knows what it means and how much I love my Dad. She has even bought my seat covers for me and other misc items helping me to get it completed. The 462 shortblock is the same as we built it in 88 together but it had no miles hardly so i left it untouched but put in a Butler/Comp 310/320 565/575 Solid cam, gear Drive, worked set of 6x heads, performer RPM, and a 850 double pumper. 400 turbo with a 3000/3500 TCI stall and 12 bolt w/ 373 posi. 3" Pypes exhaust w/ x pipes and Violaters turned down at rear Diff. So I assure you on Friday Cruise nights they here me coming and Pontiac grabs the attention LOL. I have since bought a set of Gregg Weld Racelites with 5" on the front and 8s on the back with M&H 28x12.50 street slicks on them

Well Paint wise i havent moved forward that much but ive completed my drive-train and switching to a Victor intake and 800 double pumper this Tuesday. I got my suspension finished up and added a set of Gregg Weld Racelites w/ 8.5s on the back w/ 295/50s and 5s on the front.

Decided to play a little with it, planning a 3" exhaust to make sound a look fast. Racing is probably not going to happen for a while, need to work the bugs out first before I get crazy. Bob |

I would love to "make" my car a hardtop. Has anyone ever attempted this with good results and not spending a fortune? Ive heard some nightmare stories about trying to do this.
