I need to replace the trunk floor on my 67 GTO. The body is off the chassis so fitting will not be a problem. Can anyone tell me where the best place to get it is or does anyone know of a member looking to sell one they will not be using? Also is a 67 Chevelle use the same trunk?

'67 Chevelle is not the same. I have had one next to my GTO and they are totally different.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I like to replace my panels while the body is still on the frame to ensure everything lines up right. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but it worked well for me when I replaced virtually all horizontal surfaces in my 67. irgoatmike

My understanding is that would be the only way to do it - if you replace the trunk floor with body off the frame I'd think you'd run the risk of welding it up cock-eye-d so to speak.

Yes, install and and least tack it solidly into place while on the frame. And be sure the frame is square with the floor and supported at suspension points.

I get that. Maybe I would lightly tack it in place and then drop down to chassis and set it right. It all makes good sense.

Have you looked at Squids Fab Shop page for this? He gives a pretty good step by step. I bought a 7-piece kit off of ebay for about $250 and it fit quite good.

I got a decent fitting trunk from c2cfabrication.com. welded in fine and nothing seemed to be out of place.
