so i have a 69 firebird that originally came with a 265 hp 350 and an auto trans does any one know the correct suffix code for this motor. would a motor with the matching suffix code and date stamp be hard to find what would the cost be and would it be worth to have cuz that’s about as close to the original motor that i can get and i like to have original(ish) stuff lying around just in case i want to go back to stock
also i have been looking in to this phs documentation. is it really worth it what come in the package i don’t ever plan to sell the car being as i bought it when i was 14 and its sentimental but would that be a cool thing to have with the car

lol sry bout that. is basically what comes with phs documentation and is it worth it on my car cause its not a high option car

The only value PHS would have for a car like that would be to show you how the car came optioned from the factory. Without the numbers matching engine (and trans??), it really is of no value. A correct, close-dated engine would raise the value about 1%. (in other words, I wouldn't waste my time). If you had a true 400, HO, RA or other rareer 'bird, then I'd say the money spent would add some value.

Having two original 400 cars without their original drivetrains(original trams in one) PHS isn't worth it IMHO unless doing a concours restoration on any model, have an original drivetrain HO(350 or 400) or convertible, or a non-numbers matching Ram Air car. With that said, I've ordered PHS on the first 3 Firebirds I've owned but not the last two.
