Default tips on pulling engine/tranny

I just bought a 75 GP for the engine and tranny, just wondering if the rad support and front end unbolt easily or if it's quicker to just pull the engine/tranny over the front of the car. I have the engine leveling attachment for the hoist, to angle the engine/tranny if needed.

thanks for any help,
Mike

Just pull the engine out over the top - no big deal

If you were restoring the car - then pulling the doghouse off the front first might make some sense, as it would provide easier access to some items... but outside of that - no real need to mess with it.

I'll say.

I stood in the engine compartment (with the block in) when I was doing an underhood resto.

With the exception of the early bird when your working on our cars , with the raditor out you can stand in front of the engine in the engine compartment & work on the engine or what ever you can reach while your in there. I usually put the dist. back in before I put the raditor in so I can look down in the dist hole to see where it's going. Also easy to change items with the raditor out like the intake or valve cover or even if you want to adjust the valves one at a time by looking down through the valley to watch the lifter move up & down so you can see whenyour at TDC, & zero lash.

It's a 75 Grand Prix LJ, 455/400 turbo, and a rust bucket, even the hood and trunk lid are rusted. Ran great though. Any hard to find parts on this that make shipping worthwhile?

Mike
