lol, Yes Stan, I'm slacking. I've been trying to clean up the trim pieces for the door areas and drip rails. Getting ready to hit the bone yard for some door latch mechanisms and some better trim pieces. Hoping that they have a g-body to pick from. I did get my headers yesterday. I can post them!!

You know your headers. They're mad dogs. Now I can set the motor in and see how well they fit. I didn't use the 301 motor mounts and location. My understanding is the 301 set up was used to come up with the header design. Hopefully there won't be any big issues. Now's the time to find out.

I just got off the phone with Mark yesterday,(nice guy) ordered a set for my 63 Tempest, should be here in about a month. Hopefully we will have the back half and full frame rails in by then.

Like you I can't position motor/tranny till I get the headers, I am going to TRY to offset the M/T to the pass. side 2" and I don't know if I will have that much clearance. I have to make mounts anyway as my car has a 4 cyl cross member.

Keep on keepin on.

I did score some parts at the local bone yard. I had to pick up door latch mechanism for both doors. I've posted a photo to show how trashed the original mechanism is as compared to the replacement one.

The roof rail trim work is painted. I'll wait a few days before I put them on the car. The wife didn't even complain about the paint smell in the house. Well that might have been because she was working.

I set the motor in the Aero Coupe so I could check the fit of the new Mad Dog headers. I'm happy to say they seem to fit very well. The only task that I see is either finish cutting off the header flange or just remove enough to clear the dip stick tube. I'll post some photos soon.

This is the header flange section that I was talking about. After further thought and talk I'm assuming that it was left on just for shipping purposes.

I'm cutting it off. I'll then make sure the flange surface is square, degrease them and paint em.
