Great news Greg, lookin' good!
Yes, dressing the car out with badges and such is great fun. I remember digging into the boxes of all the new and re-finished trim parts when my Lemans first got back into my garage after painting. For the most part putting it all together went quickly and it was very satisfying to finally see the results. Won't be long now until you will be waving back at all the guys giving you the thumbs up as you cruise down the road...

Any time Jerry and Craig. I hope to have the car ready for the BOP this year. I've always been an observer and never a participant. Not looking for awards, just to join in the fun.
Still may be a couple of months as it'll get a vinyl top and I'll let him do that too since it's down there already and he's done it many, many times.

Raining like crazy here for the next couple of days. I'm hoping it'll start going back together next week if the wx holds.

Greg, I painted my car in my old one car building. Very drafty. I hung sheets of plastic on the walls and roof and kept the floor wet. It turned out pretty good. I put on plenty of clear because I knew I would be sanding and buffing a lot of it off. I have a couple of tips for you. When spraying metallic be sure not to hold the gun to close, that is one of the reasons for the tiger strips. Also, watch out for the air hose. Lay the hose over your shoulder and keep it behind you. I have seen many paint jobs ruined because the painter let the air hose rub against the wet paint , expecially on the hood, top, and trunk. Also watch out for water coming out the end of the hose where it attaches to the gun. Get or somehow borrow a good water trap. If you have a small compressor like I do it will most likely make water after it gets hot. That is a drawback to small compressors. I used a 5hp Sears with a 20 gallon tank and it made a lot of water after about the second coat. Make sure you drain it and I take some paper towels and wrap them around the connection where the hose plugs into the gun handle, then wrap a couple of turns of masking tape around it to hold it in place. If you have any water coming out, this will keep it from dripping on your flat surfaces. Also when you wet the floor, try to keep the last 3 or 4 feet of the hose off the floor and from getting wet and dripping water on the flat surfaces when you reach over them to spray. When I painted my car at home, water was a big problem. These are some things I learned the hard way trying to paint my car at home with a small Sears compressor. But it is a very good feeling doing it yourself.

No, not really. I just came back from there this evening. He's got the front clip painted but he's redone one quarter a couple of times and is redoing a fender now.
I'm not rushing him because he's a perfectionist and insists on redoing sections if they have any kind of trash or visible flaw under the clear. The fender has a small hair under the clear, so he's redoing it. I never rush someone when they're trying to get something right for me.

Greg, I didn't read this entire thread. I thought you were painting the car yourself. Sorry.

Just on my phone Boss...and I don't have a smart phone, so transferring them to the monitor is an exercise in futility.
I'll have some next week for sure.

Still looking like you can be ready for the BOP show? May 3, right? Hoping that the weather will be reasonable this year and I can make it.
