I have bought a couple of things from The Parts Place only because PY did not carry the items. I have even returned things to them with no problems.
They do make a lot of parts. Case in point I bought two of the dash bezel assemblies for my 68's that has their name molded right into the back of it. BUT I purchased them from PY even though I was aware that they were made by The Parts Place. WHY? I try to support our sponsor with as many as my purchases that I can. Also, PY prices are competitive so it is easy for me to be a cheapskate and a loyal customer at the same time.;) DAVE

Wow! i wonder where PY gets their 4 speed conversion stuff from. the clutch pedal lever needs drilled for the clutch rod where the parts place does't so that leads me to believe it is from anothe source.

It could be an error from one batch to another.

You will likely not get the number of responses to this post because most of the guys here were brought up by Mothers who taught them if they can't say something nice, they shouldn't say anything at all.

goin OEM. thanks for all the responses. picked up NOS header panel and headlight bezels got lucky but pricey. i learned by putting 2 66 chevelles togeather that repro parts most of the time aren't the best approach.

Well, the Parts Place would be OK to deal with if the people that worked there were not condescending to the customers. Also, their reproduction parts come close, but seldom are a good reproduction. Kind of like...close enough...screw getting it right.

I've bought parts from them before, the parts there tend to be a few bucks less and they have good customer service but I feel their site isn't as user friendly.

seems like buying reproduction parts is like voting; you try to select the lesser of the few evils. last weekend i drove several hours for an original 66 dashpad. the seller said it is in excelent condition. he assured me the long drive will be worth it. it turned out to have a 2 inch circular burn bubbles directly in front of the passenger line of sight.

I have bought a 68 FB throttle linkage. It would work but not the same as the original. Brother bought a 68 GTO rear wing. Didn't conform to the body line and was sent back.

Well bunch of years ago when i was trying to buy all the ramII heads i could find -I called the parts place --they said they had a set or 2 dont remember-anyway i asked what the-- date code(s)-- were on the set - they wanted about 2800.00 ok no prob so the guy said -nope we wont give ya date codes-- so i said nicely-- yea i understand if its a 5 dollar part but we are taking 2800---he said agian -nope -will not
-after that i told what to do with the heads and to this day id rather use an old rusted part then get one from then |
