wow!! What kind is it? Looks a bit like a black snake. Lots of western diamondbacks out & about here as of late. Steve barcak had 3 in a 24 hr period! News said 7 reported bites in 3 days. You have any problems getting him out from under the manifold??

Texas rat snake. Harmless, but aggressive. Given the size of this one I figured it would be best to give him a chance to keep the critters out of the shop. Of course, I didn't come to this conclusion until after the hour it took to get him out of the car. I don't spend much time in Arizona during spring these days, so I don't see Diamondbacks. Can't say I miss them.

Thumbs up

That polished Cross-Ram looks way too cool!

Just not sure I that it shouldn't be on my car!

I managed to get some time back in the garage and finally finished-up the motor and transmission mounts to fit the 400/4L80e in the '63. Some of you may recall that engine placement was made somewhat difficult due to interference with the Heidt's front crossmember/suspension setup that the previous owner had installed.

Before jumping into re-doing the floor pan over the trans, I decided that the next step should be to do a mini-tub job to bring the inner fenderwell all the way in to the rear frame rail. I'm about 3/4 of the way through the driver's side.

One step forward two backward. I talked the upholstery guy today. He is having a very hard time aligning the top frame, and cannot get the top cables. We can make the cables. That is step one. Step two is he has seen transmission fluid leaking on the passenger side of the car. Probably a punctured transmission pan. We did hear something scrape getting the car off of the trailer. I will be changing the front springs for more road clearance. The car is just too low.
I have already sent in the registration for both cars at the POCI convention. I hope I get this car finished in time.
