I'll run 110 fuel(cheap and readily available), not turn it to the moon, and hopefully have long head gasket life. The motor is in the car already and I'm calling about getting the converter restalled today. With the addition of the vacuum pump and lower oil pressure, I'd like to think it should pick up another 25-30hp conservatively. Hoping to get it in the 8's this year, but more importantly just make some laps with our nostalgia group and have some fun.

Hmmmmm

Wow! some of you guys are really being a bunch of ass holes. Hooter is an outstanding guys and doesn't deserve this BS. If you have a problem with someone take it up with them, not the guy in the middle.

Congratulations Brad! 800hp + Pontiacs are always cool in my book.

Agree on some being a-holes... sooner or later it will catch up with them and no one will care what happens to them...

Nice modest build package with room to improve... nothing wrong with that.

Enjoy it Brad!!!

fwiw i think the fellas you are referring are trying to call out greatgto for his comments about the heads. Maybe not clear about what they meant. I think it is well accepted that hooter is a great guy and i seriously doubt anyone meant him disrespect.

Hooter....have some fun with it. If ya want more theres some to get in the off season. Enjoy racing it for a while.

You are correct, they are a-holes, and stupid ones at that, these heads are Hooters old wideports that Bill reworked, to what extent I do not know. These are not the ports that Bill developed for his version of wideports. See when you suffer from cv1 derangement syndrome you cant let correct facts get in the way of your thought process.

Mine were KRE "wide ports" that I had fixed by Gaby, so what is your point?

How stupid are we that we picked the right head porter and make 200 HP more on our engines?

And you did say Bill made the best E - head wide ports out there? So I guess you don't know what you are talking about.

Azz holes? / well sometimes.
Stupid ? / NO . look at there results.........stupid

And who ever did what to what is irrelevant and what its performance was intended to be.
It seems to me that the sum of the parts do not add up to the performance, at least in some peoples world. A thing is what it is. So..................
IMO someone missed on this one in probably many places.

Hooter i am sorry, i do not mean any disrespect to you and do not want to bash your motor, but at the same time. With the parts and CID , did it make what you thought the potential was?
If you decide you want to try to sort out some of the potential problems holding back the motor , i would be happy to help if you want it.

Sorry,I didn't know that you guys knew all the specs to this engine enough to come in here and say it didn't make enough power . Was also nice for you to say you mean no disrespect to Hooter then in your very next sentences do it anyway!

I didn't see Hooter in any of your posts disrespecting you or your builds.I guess he could have went into Leeches post where his engine blew all to hell and said he felt it should have stayed together longer than 5 minutes based on the specs and the parts he had, must have been built by an idiot? Yeah he could have said he felt Quinns car should have ran a lot better with Marcellas. intake that cost an arm and a leg and ran the same as a cast intake that Marcella said was junk ? Yeah he could have, hmm but didn't.

I guess he has class, something some people will never have.

Seems to me you guys should be working on your own problems and not worry about anyone else's.

In was also nice for you guys to attack Bill and his work on the very day his mom died of cancer, you had to know since you know all the details about every engine and cylinder heads he touches. You guys are all POS in my opinion.

you need to actually build a real live engine. you are the definition of a phucktard. Look it up. I've repeatedly over and over stated that my combo was old and nothing special. reworked steel 11/32 valves that we rescued from the dumpster in 2000, cut in a lathe and ran for 5 seasons way north of 8. It Dropped a valve. Wake up moron. It happens. You think im the first guy to drop a valve? The only way to completely avoid parts failure is do do like you do and not try at all. So maybe i am an idiot for not replacing them sooner. Maybe for not double checking radial clearance with clay AFTER checking for P to V with the cam installed through the sweep.

YOU SIR ARE AN IDIOT FUTARD FOR TO MANY REASONS ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO LIST. NOT ONE OF THE REASONS FOR ANYTHING YOU"VE ACTUALLY "DONE" BUT RATHER WHAT YOU SAY AND DON"T "DO".

For the record i think you are the main source of the bloviating.

My sincerest sympathies to Bill and his family. I lost my Grandfather to a battle with cancer 6 years ago. Hopefully the family can find peace now that she has.

Correct me if i'm wrong Brad.

Hoot's build is with ancient Wenzler heads with more miles then a French whore.
Top if off with a block from same brothel and an ancient bathtube with 2-750 afb's.
Plan wasnt to pound his chest. There's some serious money guys in his group. They trash between rounds.
Then there's others like Brad. Just have'n fun race'n and hang'n with bud's. Their a pretty tight group.
Hit most of the Midwest Nostalgia SS events, run all day long, not get dirty, relax at nite, repeat next day.
Get home, leave car in trailer, wait for next event.
How much better can it get?!
