Smile CURRENT COMBO CAPABILITY III

Well after all these years i finally went to a real drag strip, sacramento raceway. i had only run on a dragstrip two passes at an old drag strip/ airport that they use once a year. my TA ran 14.65@ 94.24 so i was pretty happy. friday night it ran [email protected] on the first pass. and [email protected] the second.it spun the mickeys a little on pass two. pass three was [email protected] and it spun pretty good on the line. now i have a total of five passes on the drag strip. my 455 is the L75 engine with 8.0 comp gm 068 1.6 rockers ra exhaust 2.5 pypes subframe connecters and q-jet by me, after reading two books. LOL i got on wallace racing and pluged in the numbers for the 98.47 mph and it says yhe car should do 13.60 or 13.50. i had soooo much fun you couldnt wipe the smile of my face! just thought id post this info, that even low comp 455,s rock!! thanks for all the info i,ve learned on this site. and i love my PONTIAC. Hi Guys, thanks for the nice words. beebe, yes your right the 60 ft times were 2.12 best and 2.16 worst. i was suprised i spun the mickeys the second and third passes. i had 21 lbs. in them, maybe im off on that? the car wieghs 4050 with me in it. th 400 3.08 posi. the center of the tire didnt look like it was wearing much. more air? i also was only running 30 degrees total timing, maybe with the 8.0 comp. i should be 32-34 degrees? grrrrreg, my ta is a 74, what pontiac do you have? ill watch for you next time! 66 bonne thanks, i,ve always liked your car! Try down around 18 for the Mickey's..30 degree timing is low...my 76 low compression 455 I'm at 38..Next time at the track put the timing up 2 degrees at a time...or crank it up at home...you will feel a huge difference over 30...Just double check it doesn't advance at higher rpms. You have a stock convertor too?Pretty good times I think!

right now I'm between cars, I used to race a black 69 GTO, years ago I had a 10 second 64 GTO. Hopefully around the beginning of the year I'll be back out with a 71TA. I still go out there with friends, what color 74.
