Tomorrow the touring princess gets to attempt to qualify at Pocono.

The track was originally built as an Indy Car track.

Pocono Raceway has a unique design derived from 3 different tracks.

Turn One (14 degree banking) was modeled after the now defunct Trenton Speedway.

Turn Two ("The Tunnel Turn") is like Indianapolis Motor Speedway (9 degree banking).

Turn 3 (6 degree banking) is similar to The Milwaukee Mile.

Qualifying and practice rained out at Pocono, so they start according to owners points.

The touring princess is 29th in the points, but will start 30th based on owners points.

One of the severely underfunded teams, James Finch's Phoenix Racing, has used 3 different drivers - Regan Smith, AJ Allmendinger and Austin Dillon, but will use their combined efforts to determine their starting position. AJ will be driving this weekend.

Getting this back on track...

Stewart-Haas racing comes in 4th and 5th today, good racing.
Danica starts 30th and storms her way to 29th. (first time at Pocono)

Jimmy stunk the place up again, but it was good to see Jr run top 5 all day.

This is my first take on it, agreed for the most part.

My next is, I think people need to get a life that are really "worried" about this stuff. The lady is doing a job. She works her ass of no doubt and she takes a ton of chit for doing what she's supposed to do and that is get her face (thus her sponsor) in front of the camera! LOL! That's her JOB at least as much as the driving part of it. If you have no sponsor there's no ride! I'm positive she PAYS the press to follow her around! HA!! Give me a BREAK! She's pretty, she's articulate, and she's a good driver or she wouldn't even be where she's at.

"Conspiracy" my aching asp!

My two bits, done...

It's like I said before it is a women in a dominated sport by men,no need to feel threatend,it will always be a sport dominated by men,no she isn't that good,we know this ,she is not the best looking either we no this also, but she is not ugly, she is riding the wave and cashing in like most people would, unfortunately,I am not in to NASCAR like I was ,when my favorite driver "the king"Richard Petty raced, but all this talk about some one that probably will never break records ,if its not hate then it must be jealousy

Good drivers have won more than 1 race in their 16+ year automobile racing careers.

I'm not aware of any modern day (say the last 40 years) era Cup racers who had only 1 automobile race win before getting a full time Cup ride.

Anyone that knows of someone that has, feel free to correct me.

In the end I just really don't care. I will comment. I'd love to see you out there on the track racing against her. More than likely you'ed get your ass handed to you along with 99% of the average people on here playing "couch racer". "Good Driver" was only in reference, in my description, to the fact that she is capable of running at that level. Notice! I used the word "good". Example: To describe a driver like Tazio Nuvolari I'd use the word FABULOUS, or PHENOMENAL, if you catch my drift. I'm not "correcting" you, by the way, I'm just giving perspective to my comment.

If her chosen profession was say an MD and she was as good at that as she is at racing, and had one correct diagnosis and saved one persons life in 16 years. Say she prolonged a few peoples lives a little longer than if she hadn't treated them. Maybe twice we thought the people were going to pull through but in the final minutes in surgery she choked and lost them, then how many people here would go to her?

The hospital she worked for promoted the heck out of her and got some people believing she was going to perform way better surgery than the other doctors, but after 3 years the mortality rate of her patients was much worse than the hospital ever anticipated, and out of 43 doctors she was rated 30th but with some practice over the next 2-3 years she may move her position from 30th to say 25th. Who's going to let her practice on them after the word gets out that she ain't what all the hype generated by the hospital and media said she'd be. The employer looks at hiring her as a liability and the media is just about quit talking about her completely and don't pick up stories about her like they used to.

It's all in the way you look at a persons job performance, that puts it in perspective. Anyone here want to let her practice on them for a surgery? Is close enough okay when it come to job performance?

Some people just aren't cut out to do the job they're doing, when your job performance is that poor after a good while on the job, you might just be in the wrong line of work. The touring queen is in the wrong line of work. Maybe she'd be better suited to being a politician, blaming someone else for her job performance comes pretty natural to her. And doing a poor job year after year seems to be considered fine in the political world, After King Obuma, should we have Queen Patrick, 4 more years...........................

So... Danica is running for President and doing brain surgery now? How in the hell did you make that leap. lol Lets stick to racing and leave the ridiculous comparisons out of it. Whoa! You need to get a LIFE outside T.V., talk radio, and NASCAR and you're infatuation with hating this person you've never met, I can easily assume. If you have met her do you talk to her face to face this way? lol

When Tazio or Richard Petty or Jackie Stewart, drove there were people out there on the track less capable than them. Even though the other drivers weren't the best drivers ever to live at least they had people on the track to race with. It made for better spectacle for the crowd. If racing were done on the bases of the above analogy we would only see one car circling the track every race. Then how would we know for sure he/she was actually the best? Thus, there are divers that come in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and so on. There are plenty of drivers in every type of racing, for any number of reasons, never become great, that's racing. If she is piling up cars right and left and injuring other drivers in every race then she's a "liability" otherwise they pass her. That's racing! In racing you pass other cars generally unless it's a rally but we'er talking NACSAR. If she is qualifying for the races... guess what! She's "qualified"! Whoa! That's why some make the field and some don't. As I said, she is a success because she makes money for her sponsor. The press follows her because she's pretty, she's on the track because she's qualified to run at that level even if she isn't the best driver.

Get over it, it's the reality of the situation, this thread alone is helping her because we are talking about her, get it? It's FREE advertising. She wins again, success! You're just whining. She's making money and you don't like it that the world isn't fair. Hater! lol

First of all - I have never attempted to claim that I am capable of running in NASCAR - at any level.

But that doesn't mean I don't know what "good" is at that level.

I personally know drivers that have performed better than Danica in the same levels as Danica. They don't have a full time Cup ride.

That is my beef.

Oh, OK. Life isn't fair, you're correct.

P.S. Remember, she is qualifying for the races. There have ALWAYS been driver's that were better than others.

Yeah, usually between the lower 20's to 40th. While driving some of the best equipment available...

And... Life isn't fair. There will be someone else filling her shoes in that position when she leaves.

As we've all said, the disproportionate attention is because of her looks and she is articulate, i.e. she's good in front of the camera. That is what the sponsor wants. If you haven't noticed the sport is about money. The fact that people are still watching her and talking about her proves she is a good investment for the sponsor. She qualifies for races, be it low or high, they almost don't care as long as she gets the "name" on T.V. Racing has been that way for a long time.

Personally, if I had the ideal race it would be Top Fuel drag racing with a bunch of Linda Vaughn and "Jungle" Pam types out there driving half naked. I don't care how well they drive just give me the show! Noise, horsepower and BIG BOOBS! YEE HAA! LOL! As Jeff Foxworthy said, You want to know what a man is thinking? He's thinking I want a beer and to see something naked... LOL!

I'll tell you what, if F1 had a "Danica" they would use her too.

I love Pink Floyd, "Money" is one of my favorite songs.

You assume to know something about me when really you know nothing about me. I have a life outside of all the media you seem to list that you think I just sit and watch racing on TV, and read about it on the net.

I have driven race cars on an oval for over 12 years, as you can see in my signature picture I was successful at it. I was the owner, driver, builder, PR man and crew chief, even at a local level on a dirt track she sucks as a driver. Last year at the Prelude to the Dream I attended at Tony Stewart's Eldora Speedway the touring queen was there and wrecked her car into the turn 1 fence right in front of my seat on the second lap of the heat race.

Being that I was successful at my undertaking and had a much better record than the touring queen does why would I be jealous of someone that can't drive well? I have nothing against a women that can drive a race car well, she can't.

Back further in this thread I posted a 19 YO girl that drives a 410 winged sprint car here in Ohio, her name is Paige Polyak and she will someday be a good if not great race car driver. She's very proficient at it and already at 19 has way more heat and feature wins in a sprint car than the touring queen has in the last 16 years. This past weekend she raced with Dale Blaney and Tim Shaffer, 2 of the most capable sprint car drivers in the nation and held them off, they were not able to pass her. Could the touring queen do the same? No, not in another 16 years would she be as successful .

Tony Stewart is a great race car driver, much like AJ Foyt he can get in any type of race car and win with it, when she's in his category you let me know. Without Go Daddy as a sponsor she's out of racing. Money not talent got her in some of the best NASCAR equipment in the garage. The driver that stepped into her Indy car ride already in the first season has exceeded her wins than the whole career she had in that same ride. A good driver has nothing to do with the touring queen, she's not even second rate.

And she has wrecked a number of cars this season as well as other seasons, sometimes not her fault sometimes it was. She needs to be in a different profession as my earlier post suggests, because even though she can make circles around a race course, she doesn't ever hold the checkered flag and that is the measure of even a good race car driver, which she surely isn't. If you discount everything said against her in this thread and let her stand on her record, does she measure up?

BTW, please list your qualification so far to make the judgement calls on what type driver she is. You ever driven a oval track, or a road race car in an actual race? How'd you do. If not, your just a media loving, armchair racer same as the other 99% that post on this thread. There are no statistics to make anyone think she's even mediocre as a driver.

You want to debate this further, have at it, I'm sure I can refute any points you think make her worthy of being in the # 10 car. Difference is I actually have some experience and success at it, do you?

I guess this is where we differ.

I enjoy good competitive racing. You only want to see T&A.

And seeing as how you like "BIG BOOBS" - what is it about Danica that you find appealing?

It's revolting, but the kid on the left has bigger boobs than Danica...
