Anyone else notice the "guardrail" appears to be made from surplus WWII tempory runway materials such as shown below?

I think that product was called to "Marston mat'. Was a temporary runway surface used in WWII

Love those old V-Drive boats. The one in the photo appears to have a V-12 Allison or Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. Those were the baddest of the bad!

You are welcome. Looks like a faithful restoration.
I used to attend boat races 30+ years ago. Cool memories of those old boats skating across the water. Looks like your picture might be from the Texas area, judging by the hats! |

Back in the 80s there was an abandoned bridge next to my inlaws.... and that matting was used as guardrails on both sides, on his side of the river. Needless to say, the local yokels would come by and steal it. Seems they wanted it to make ramps for the trailers for their dirt track cars. Half the of the old road was his and he turned in a number of local yokels for theft.... the matting on his side belonged to him. They had to return it, but most came back in the middle of the night and eventually took it all. That is some tuff stuff that lasted for years.

Noticed that '66 has red brake drums behind it's Rally I's.
Was that common with red line tires? I've seen many restored cars like that but never a factory original. |

According to information I got somewhere, the drums were painted red with Rally I wheels. I painted mine that way specifically because I'd read it....can't remember where.

Couple pics I received today. First one is Johnny Duncan's Super Stocker and Bill Foder had an identical twin. Bill Foder's is sitting in my garage right now and still sports this exact same paint job.
