For those not going to Dayton--The 65 that PMD Never Built
From page 76 of Paul Zazzarine's 'Muscle Car Color History GTO 1964-1967', the article below tells that Pontiac intended to bring out Dual Quads to showcase the new Ram Air option in mid 1965. Instead they brought it out with the already available tri power carbs.
 Since I already had the 'correct' afb's and a period correct Offy intake, why not build the car that PMD never build. Only roadblock would be a ram air pan for dual quads. After talking with my fabricator, he said No Problem! With only some minor adjustments and some additional cleaning, here are some pics:

That is about the coolest looking set up you can do and look stock.maybe grind off all the offy stuff and laugh while people are looking for part numbers

That is pretty cool! I plan on something similar for my '64. Why not use the front fuel inlet and fuel lines/throttle linkage from Fab Craft? If Pontiac was gonna do it in '65 they would have used stuff that was already developed for the SD Program, right? I LOVE to see a Tri Power alternative! Good Job!

Jerry, Real Cool 65! I'm sure you can scare some folks with that ride! All that muscle and it looks like a column automatic?? HO exhaust manifolds? Great color also!

Looks great Jerry. Is the big surprise the dual quad ram air pan? I've never seen one that looked stock before. Kool.

Well done, Jerry!! Car looks great until you open the hood--then it looks even greater!!!
I'll bet it runs well. Looks like you used a TH350.

Jerry, First Class Fabrication on the RAM AIR PAN.
Tell your pal, very nice work (and I see great fabrication stuff daily at work). Would you be willing to make a drawing/pattern of the AFB airhorn locations on the pan? Tom Vaught So how are you working the rear carb with the carb lever is right next to the throttle cable bracket?

Yep the turbo 350 replaces the original factory 2 speed auto. And yes it's on the column. And this car came factory equipped with tri-power. I still have it sitting in my shop. I've been working on this for the past 8 months, and as of 10 pm tonight it looks like I may NOT be able to make it to the CoVention after all. Two weeks ago I had two guys coming with me and now both have dropped out. With my help I have to have someone to help loading and unloading the car. Unless my brother decides he can make the trip, I'll be sitting at home; all dressed up with no place to go.
