Default Couple of real dumb questions about a/c/heat controls

I am trying to figure out the controls on a 65 Pontiac Tempest with air conditioning. From L to R the control head on dash reads de-ice - heat - off - vent - out - inside. Obviously I know what de-ice, heat, off, and vent represent, but here are my dumb questions. (1) what occurs in the "out" position (2) what occurs in the "inside" position (3) In the "vent" position, do you still have fan motor control. Thanks

Out = AC on, outside air induction.
Inside = AC on, recirculate inside air.
Vent, outside air only.
All fan speeds available in any position of mode control.

Yeah, I wish. Please call my wife and tell her that?

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask!
