I had an appointment to have the windshield installed today, and the guys who came out felt like they needed to bring out the "big dog" to do the install since this was a "showy car" and did not want to take any chances on screwing it up. I told them I appreciated their honesty and obviously I was on no hurry on getting it installed.

The rest of the jambs are almost done. I am having issues with the LH lower fender patch lining up, it is just not shaped right so I am going to have to tweak the area because the bottom corner of the door comes way too close to it. I got the LH door lined up really well and with the new USA made repro door latches I can close the door with one finger.

The car can be driven out of the garage for wetsanding. This is probably the first time the car has moved under its own power for 30 years. The carb from my 71 chev pickup doesn't like to make the poncho idle real well. Just need to get my choke pulloff ordered from cliff and the pontiac's own q-jet is pretty much ready to go.

Jambs all done! FWIW paint is TCP global BC, which is their "factory match" version of meridian turquoise. Clear is Southern Polyurethanes universal clear.

Windshield is in! Now just to get the pass. fender lined up and fix a small spot or 2 and final sand. Based on how the jambs came out with 400 I don't think I will go any higher than that on the body. Engine bay sure has gotten dusty from sitting, I think I will wash it all with distilled water after it is painted.

I am hoping I can catch up with my buddy with the booth next week and get his trailer over here so I can haul it over.

I just bought a set of the new valence moldings from PY on ebay (you can get em with free shipping there, or at least I did) so will post back as to their look and fit. I had one that was OK and one that was pretty well beat.

I got the valence chrome, and it looks very good. I'll post a pic soon.

Plan is to get the trailer over here friday, and haul it over to my buddy's booth sunday or monday. The ebrake works real well so I don't think I'll bother with any straps.

I'm off work all next week for painting and "installing stuff".

Just going to live with it! Guessing that when it is all done it won't be that noticeable. Dennis (gto4ever) showed me a pic of his door which had the same issue as mine, so I am guessing it was a "manufacturing tolerance" deal.

Paint day tomorrow! My buddy with the booth is being a hermit up at his cabin so I build a temporary "white trash" booth out of plastic in my garage. Tried to get it done this morning but had too much to do and lost a race with the thermometer.

I got the body done but not the front clip. I came down with the flu wednesday and never got to it. (and yes I got the flu Wednesday right in the middle of my week off.) It was also a good week to paint as temps were only in the low 80s. This week, mid 90s. (I use a medium reducer which is in the 70-80 range.)

The clear came out better on my jambs, and I am not sure what I did differently. (turn the fluid knob down is my guess.) I may scratch it down some with 600 and add another coat. Will add a pic here soon.

Lookin Great Jeremy sorry to hear about the sickness Yuk. Mine is at the body shop hopefully it looks as good as yours, I,ve decided to have it done in the original alpine blue color.

Got some more parts based this morning, will clear tomorrow morning. Just the valence and a fender left. I know the pics are crappy, but my regular camera is... lets just say its still on vacation in mexico.

Started wet sanding the clear yesterday. Got the drivers side done up to 1500 (sans the fender) and the pass side has been done with 1000. Man was that ever hell on my back, I think I'll take a break from it today.
