Not sure I understand? It's not like there's gravel and mud all over the place and its not like there are nt detours.

It was much worse last year and we hosted the POCI show with over 1000 cars.

I drive my 70 thru there twice a week, I have even stopped at the Culvers for a MALT. Some people here ( FormulaPhil) are OVERBLOWING this to the 10th degree. There is nothing there that will hurt anybody's prized possession unless you drive like a total A-HOLE or drive off the road. If you are driving your car to the show...guess what .....its a driver, if its a show car like Brew's old 4sp its in a trailer. That said, would I drive Brew's former show car or Mike's newly done T37 on North Ave to the show?

I'm not ruling out bringing the car on Sunday.I'll find out Saturday what the roads are like as I have stated a couple time's that I am vending on Saturday.So if you still want that 70-72 Firebird front bumper( w/ nice grill's ) speak up as I have sorta been holding on to it for you.If not someone else will get a good deal.I plan on bringing a lot of $5 & $10 item's that I am just giving away. I'm now sorry I went and found the best path into the show with the least exposure to the construction and told you about it. I'm not trying to tell people to not go to the show as much as trying to help my fellow pontiac people find the best way in which is encouraging them to come.

They cancelled the corvette show here because of the road construction. I don't drive my car thru construction zones that's all..so I took the extra time to find the safest way in for me and my friends and let you know about it.

Craig you wouldn't drive brewster's car thru that area you would take the path Into the show I suggested. It's like a 2 mile detour but still gets you into the show. Why beat me up about it??

I'm disappointed with the negative responses Take anyway into the show you want I was going to the show despite the construction. I feel personally attacked here for trying to lend some intelligence so don't take my advice if you don't want to.

Phil, I'm so sorry. Just stating my observations as I drive this with my car twice a week. Of course your input is welcome (as if it is mine to say that). You were kind of painting this as a WWII war zone and that it is not. Case in point ...Jim not bringing his car was based on your observations, I just felt that I should give a counter point.

The move of the Bloomington show had nothing to do with road construction.


According to Bloomington Gold CEO, David Burroughs, “Although it will be hard to beat the beautiful fairways of Pheasant Run, input from Corvette-owning customers wanted more opportunity for socializing and driving events as part of the entire Corvette show experience. It needed to become more dynamic.”

David went on to say: “Our customers own Corvettes because they are fun to drive. So, we needed a venue that not only served our exhibitors and customers who buy/sell and certify Corvettes, but also a venue that makes it easy and fun to navigate to/from and around the community before, during, and after the show. Therefore, we needed a small-town atmosphere with big-town hotels, great facilities, and quick escape routes to miles of country roads. Champaign, Illinois, has the smaller-town atmosphere, and the University of Illinois Assembly Hall grounds have everything else.”

Mention the Cruisin Tigers Indian Uprising for a rate of $89.00 at this Holiday Inn.. As of yesterday, there were six rooms left. Its just down the road from the show grounds. You must call them directly at 630 584 5300. Do not use the 800 number.
