I'm so used to people asking if my Pontiac has a big block or small block, I guess it didn't even occur to me that he'd correctly id a Chevy 400 small block. In fact, I just skimmed over that part of the ad and it didn't even register as important. The salient factor is that he ain't gonna sell it for anywhere remotely resembling $5000.
Who knows what's in it. Most likely a Pontiac 301 or Chevy 350.

I got to know, been looking at your car you have as your signature pic, been looking at it alot, and I don't know if it's a optical illusion, or if your rear trailing arm is broke, because it looks like the drivers rear tire is sitting to far back in the wheel well.

I feel that my price of $7,500. is very fair for a nice vehicle like this one with the potential that this vehicle has.

Potential sure is expensive.

Regarding that rear-ended Catalina: It's hard to believe that guy wouldn't post a picture of the engine, if he feels it's worth $5,000. He must be super lazy.
I kind of think '78 was the last year of the 400(P) in a big car. I've seen a '79 Catalina with a factory 231 before.
1975 was the last year for a SBC 400 in a pass car, IIRC.

This is a design that I "admire from afar"...as IIRC there is a couple miles of electrical wiring, electro-mechanical servos, switches, all must be in perfect order for the top to work correctly.

Yep - rear trailing arm unhooked from the rear end at 60 mph. That wasn't a good day.

I'm replacing the stock trailing arms with boxed PMT Fabrication units. We're towing the car to a new shop today - after 9 weeks of guys looking at it, I've finally found someone who will start fixing it. As you can imagine - there's some bodywork to do since the rear end started steering me at 60 mph. The most serious stuff actually came from that rear wheel dropping back at speed.
