Sorry for no response lately
Car had a setback 2 weeks after we got it on the road. #5 cylinder cracked a ring. The only part of the car we didn't rebuild...PO told Brent entire running gear had been rebuilt  Ends up they had installed a new cam but hadn't lined it up right. Anyways that's water under the bridge.....engines at a rebuilder and Brents deciding whether to stroke it or not. Here's a look at it right after we got it on the road before the engine took a dump

I have do I dare say a chebby. I bought a 69 Corvette back in 75 and still got it. I own a body shop so Brent's been around cars his entire life. From age 13 he has wanted a piece of American muscle. He sold his Toyota 4x4 to buy this car He found the car on his own. First time I saw the car was when he pulled into the yard with it on a trailer |

Never have been, but I would have seriously considered the original Nightshade on the car. I've never seen one in person, but from the pictures it looks to be an awesome color. Sooner or later we will get there with the engine. Looks like he is going to stroke it. Will post more on that after rebuilder finalizes his plan The sound deading is called Rattle Trap Xtreme,80 mil. Brent ordered it from the manufacturer I believe..I will ask him at work tommorow Nice stuff to work with, comes with a wood roller all you need is a hair dryer. We used it on the doors and and quarters instead of a plastic vapor barrier . Didn't affect install of interior trim panels at all. You won't believe the solid thud the doors make when you close them. I was real happy with the way the Rattle Trap came out but that was Brent's doing, he has lots of patience. |

I just pulled the motor out of my car for a few days in early September and swapped out the stock exhaust manifolds for the RARE re-pop Ram Air manifolds. Getting the old ones off was a lot easier with the motor out, and since my friend let me use one of the bays in his repair shop, it was a no brainer.
I also installed their 2 1/2" Mandrel Bent system with the quietest of the 3 choices of mufflers they offered. I had a leaking exhaust manifold gasket on the drivers side that was bugging me for a few years now, and one of my old mufflers blew out on me this summer, so that gave me a great excuse to re-do the whole exhaust. I'm glad I did. The car sounds awesome! One downside is all the gas I'm going through when the secondary's keep opening from my stomping the go pedal to hear it roar. The other is that even though I got the quietest of the mufflers they offered, the car has a slight drone at about 50mph. I'm probably going to do the same thing your son did. That should help with the drone. My doors sound pretty solid now, and I wasn't going to do anything with them, but now I'm considering that too after reading about your son's car. Does he remember how much of the product he ordered, and would he have any pictures of the doors, etc. with the product on them before he put the interior back in? I'm thinking that the sound deadening stuff might help the AC a little too. |

Looks like the only thing used from the old engine will be the block. Remember guys, Brent and I are fender benders..never claimed to be mechanics This is what our engine guys came up with. Builder is calling it a 464 ci. Block was bored 40 over on the last build, all it needs this time is to be honed. Build consist of balanced Eagle cast crank,H-beam rods,Icon forged pistons, clevite bearing. Block zero decked Edelbrock Performer 87cc round port heads. Comp. Hyd. Roller cam and lifters.......how radical yet to be determined later....we be open to suggestions. Comp. cam roller tip rockers & pushrods Performer RPM intake Carb. to be determined.....750 or 850 ? They are talking 9.9 to 1 compression ratio, what's you all think. |

Boys rebuilding the engine called... bunch of parts showed up
   Carb and cam ain't showed yet Here's the specs on the cam Saturday night Special ??    Looks like besides the block...the only other part used from the old motor will be the oil pan Bill |

Brent checked in on the boys doing his engine. Block is nearly done.
  Decided on going with a 830 Quick Fuel carb. They have to do a little machining yet to the intake.   Waiting on some new exhaust manifolds, water pump, valve covers and a few other items. Bill |
