Mainly because it is almost dimensionally the same and weighs the same as a flathead Ford V8. It was easy to find in the junkyard starting back in '55. A stock 2-barrel 1955 265 Chevy V8 made 162 HP, about the same as a heavily-modified Ford flathead V8.
A small-block Ford is longer and narrower, not as good a fit. You rarely see a 260, 289 or 302 in a '30s Ford, they simply are too long. |

Big fat women who wear skimpy, revealing clothes in public !
![]() Do they think they look hot like the women on Baywatch ? ![]() Most new cars styling. Can't say it enough : reality shows. Why there's so few good new rock bands out.

But up until the last 10 - 15 years the Chevy was much cheaper to rebuild and had what seemed to have a larger aftermarket performance parts selection -

Granville we were just talking about this the other day-ugh show us your t's ahhhhh run!!
Keith I had to chuckle-same statement I use at times about Pavlovs' dogs. People are receiving instructions on the phone from there 'leader'?!! I use mine maybe 6 times a week. Guys with there pants around there knees-their diapers are full!! I told this to a young guy he was livid but later pulled his pants up-imagine that. I have the same questions about 'goings on' in life. Sometimes I keep my life simple other times complex. |

Its my phone that I PAY FOR and I'll answer it if I want too. I use a cell phone for a home phone and only rings a couple times. You have to run to get it or it goes to voice mail or nothing.

People who feel the need to park right beside me when I parked away from everyone leaving bunches of spaces open closer to the building.
People who pull through park their work trucks and Vans at store like Lowes and HD. If someone parks behind you how do you expect to load it?

Most of those are setup with the Chevrolet SB, the TH 350 trans, the Monte Carlo Tilt Column, the Pinto Rack and Pinion, and the Ford 9 inch rearend. Popular Hot Rodding years ago had a car called "Project '32" that had a Pontiac 400 in the '32 Ford.

How about the people who make a big deal about electric cars that catch fire but are content to drive around with 20 gallons of explosive behind them.
