Couple of guys here on the board run Dominators on the street with excellent manners.
Shaker455 (the Carb Guy) has had excellent results with one. I would talk to him first about the carb experience he has had with Dominators on the street. Charlie66 is another guy. Tom V.

Mine works well with the CHOKE wired open, Exhaust crossover blocked, and 9.0:1 comrpession. Clean plugs. Drove it in 20 deg commute last week. fine just saying. LIST-4575 (1digit off from RA V!). think it has 96 JETs

Talk to Dale Cubic, http://www.cfmperfcarbs.com/HomePage.html
Best investment I have ever made. When running my car on the street it would continually foul plugs. At the track, weather totally dictated how fast it would go. Talked to Dale, and got an education on Dominators. Cool thing, he knows his Pontiacs. Took my 1050 to somewhere around 1300 cfm. Machined main body, custom metering blocks and adjustable air bleeds. I was given strict instruction not to touch ANYTHING when i got it back. Bolted it on, turned the key, and it goes right to idle. Have never fouled a plug since then. Street driving or racing, doesn't make a difference. Whether it is 55 or 95 degrees, car still runs the number within .05 . Wasn't cheap, but totally worth it.

I got an older 9375 and had Shaker455 rebuild it for me. It's a great street/strip carb. Good street manners and it's very snappy.

WE have Street happy dominators from both Dale Cubic and AED,The trick is to use a power valve in the primary with a much smaller jet and a Power valve chanel restriction sized to work with main jet .Have several 540-598 cu-in pumpgas 10.0-11.0 cr running as small as a 75 mainjet.Bill C.

yes... I have used it on several other friends cars as well... if you are going to do a fair amount of street driving I would suggest the 8082 (because it is a 2 circuit) if you go with the 8896, 9375 or 9377 they all are 3 circuit carbs, and dump extra fuel down the carb at idle...that's why I said the 8082 is like a big 850

I run an old 8896 that I converted to a 2 circuit with annular boosters. Used a wide band to tune it in on the track and the street. It runs flawless. No problem driving on highway or surface streets. What ever you use make sure it has screw in air bleeds. Those make a world of difference when tuning.

Dominators are great on the street when properly set up for it's intended combo.
