Default 50 Years Ago

Fifty years ago today my '64 GTO was delivered to me at A. E. England Pontiac in Hollywood. Unfortunately I didn't own a camera so I have no pictures of it.

Great milestone.

Great car.

Congratulations on keeping her this long with the shiny side up, as many of us know this car has seen its share of street and track racing at some very high speeds.

It'll be 50 years this September with our '65 GTO, too. September 18th, 1964.

A big congrats and "Way to Go" Jim. That's a very rare thing in the automotive circles. You never had to say--"wished I had that one back".
P.S. Are you coming to Pontiac Heaven this year?? The new venue (track) is outstanding.

Mark

Yep. That car went for about $3600, and for 10% down an ordinary working man could drive it for about $100 a month. The insurance companies hadn't even caught on to supercars yet.

Congrats OMT! Your ownership of the GTO has outlasted many marriages (that's a sad fact, but owning the GTO that long is quite an accomplishment). Give it a Birthday romp through the gears for me!!

Dave

Congratulations, OMT!! Isn't it great to have something from that long ago--something that's really NEAT today??

If we had only known, we'd have bought a camera and taken a whole lot of pictures! At least you have some movies from the drag strip back in the day.
