This car was advertised a while back for $95K. With the items that need to be corrected or replaced, the price tag seems a bit hefty considering there are two others for sale at about the same price point and one is a frame off car and one is a real survivor. Just my

He probably couldn't find a replacement SD cam and distributor gear so he went with the different cam and electronic distributor. Common scenario.

when I do my 74 NOM SD I am going to use the stock SD block +.030, forged crank, after market rods, stock heads, stock 7044270 carb, but 2.5 RARE manifolds, and a hydro roller cam. also will add a 3.42 instead of the 3.08. I also have a pair of widened honeycombs that will rum 295x50x15's on the rear.

if and when I sell it, the stock rods, crank, cam can go with it and if the guy wants to return it to stock he can.

now, if I find the matching motor that was pulled in Cincy, Ohio 20 years ago (because the new owner didn't want that low compression piece of crap and put in a 70 455, his words not mine) I might change my mind.

Did the same thing 20 yrs ago with a '73 "Y" code 4 speed car, with SD engine.

Has anybody ever been able to contact this guy? I tied several times the last time car was listed, left messages and phone # plus email. got nothing, thought it was sold already. Had buyer and $$$$ ready.

It seems like a neat car but after he ran the listing for over a year on ebay he tainted it and no one really seems interested any more. I tried to talk to the guy once during the listing and all he would do was email me back with the words "BUY IT". He would never answer any direct questions concerning its originality or anything else for that matter. Gee, that's a great way to deal with a potential customer.

Sorry, not an ebayr, so wasn't aware...and proves your point as to how word travels to potential customers across most venues these days.

Cool car even with the pin stripping. To bad it was undercoated but otherwise looks nice and dry.Would like to see some better pics of that motor and undercarriage.

Clear coating...too bad. First order would have to be a paint job, that thing is hideous.
I applaud his conservancy of the car , but he should have bought a van in '75 and left the TA alone.

On second thought, I suppose if one were to locate an original paint buccaneer '73 TA and swap over the fenders and doors, you could live with the rest of the pinstripes...hmmm, yeah let's do that.

Then you don't have a original panel car. Personally I would try wet sanding the car to get those frames off. I bought a original paint 73 from a member on the site years ago that somebody painted a blue stripe on the deck lid and roof. Wetsanded and buffed it out and its a good 5 footer.

was it clear-coated? how much effort to wetsand through clear coat? I've never done it. Just wet sanded paint without clear....

No it wasnt clear coated. The paint on the red car was probable done in the mid 70's. They may have clear coated the flames but doubt they did the whole car and even if they did it was with laquer. Anyway if it was mine I would try to do everything I could to preserve as much original paint on that car that I could. To pay 185 for a car that needs a resto does not make sense. However if you could make it look like a nice survivor thats a different story.
