Default MONKEY BIRDS

Yes friends of Fast N Loud
On Monday the 21st April show time, they are supposed to be finding the 1st and 2nd Firebirds made.
It could be a comedy, I have no clue, just thought I would let it be known.
Enjoy the show

Odd are he'll just clear over the rust to "preserve the patina", pressure wash the engine bays, pop on new rims and rubber before marking them up for 3 times what he paid for them.

Oh, and do his doughnuts in the parking lot. Can't forget that.

I'm afraid to watch, liable to throw SBC crate motors in them, gaudy 18 inch wheels and claim they are will be the fastest things out there. Will likely throw junk Edelbrock carbs on them and say that they are copy's of original equipment. then they'll try to get $150K out of each of them when they only do a $500 job on them.

These cars sold as a pair on ebay about a year or two ago in the high $20k range if I remember right. They are at probably one of the worst places they could possibly get a proper restoration/preservation.

holy crapola !
Hopefully all they will do is just preview them and talk about them.
Or is it already known that they are going to "restore" them ?

Was said the buyer of the pair was a professional athlete after the ebay auction.
Never heard anything else since then.

VIN #1 is a Convertible - Red on Red Deluxe - 326 2bbl & Auto on Column - #'s matching - was still in 1 piece when sold.

VIN #2 is a Hardtop - Silver - 326 HO 4bbl - 4spd & Posi - #'s matching - color changed to Red in distant past - front clip removed and some body work had been started when sold.

Was stated in auction that a lot of NOS and extra parts were included with sale.

Yea, I think they will leave them alone. The did not touch the Boss 429 and did not make much on it either. Guessing they are just going to flip them. I hope they don't touch the engines, that shop tend to wipe out cams from what I have seen.

On a past episode I saw one up on the rack in the background with the quarter cut off.
This is off the Gas Monkey web site:

Utter and complete, well I'll let Col. Potter finish the sentence:

Does anyone actually believe that these "deadlines" exist????

Lol....

Having been approached in 2012 by another (more) popular "reality show" that was interested in having one of my Pontiacs featured (at the time), I know firsthand how heavily scripted they can be, and how big the "drama" factor is.

001 Vert should just be lightly massaged in a couple spots and left as it was.
Was not in bad shape at all - overall.

002 Hardtop was already committed to an exterior re-do at minimum.
Were only 1 or 2 pics of the Hdtp on the auction.

Should be worth watching just to maybe find out more on how they came to be together with the previous owner.
Ebay sale was very very generic and vague.

Exactly!

All of these so called restoration shows are done by a bunch of idjits out to get rich from screwing the ones they buy them from. Azz Monkeys and the Count are a couple of the worst.

X2. The episode I saw they wiped out a flat tappit cam and had no idea to put in any additives for break in. They looked like a complete Bunch or retards!

I believe these cars were discussed here a couple of years ago by the current owner at that time. I believe the owner came on here looking for an evaluation IIRC..

It gets worse. The link says they completed the "restoration" in 60 days.
