Limejudge69 , do you know which old Mopar dealer on Main Street was turned into a GTI / GTCC community college building In the early 80s ?
Was that Ilderton Dodge ?

I took auto mechanics there in 1983 .
They said it was a former Mopar dealership. At minimum it was a dealership of some brand.
Jerry Darnell was my instructor.

That's an awesome pic.

74 WS4 Trans AM in Arkansas at $15K BIN. Unsure of its rarity, but far too rusty to have a positive ROI IMO.

67 Firebird 400 4-speed in Ohio at $48K BIN. Pretty car and loaded. Says they have the PHS but didn't post it? I can't see anything wrong with this car. Is the block just a weak stamp?

The surface looks pretty smooth?
I think the engine code stamps were gang stamped, so where did the 2nd letter go?

I checked the EUN, it is close for the VIN range. Not sure what's up with the engine code. I'd be checking the date code and other stuff carefully to see if good.

On the 67 Ohio Bird
Think I can faintly make out the Z in WZ code.
But that is strange.
67 PHS will have the EUN printed for verification.
EUN stamp looks legit

Wheels are 7" , not available until 1969 Bird / GP

76 Trans AM 4-speed project in NJ at $20K BIN. If you were interested, the seller may come down to earth eventually on the price. The car needs a lot.

66 GTO tri-power 4-speed GTO at $5 NR in Illinois. The car was loaded with Rally I's (my favorite), 3:55 posi rear, rally gauges, custom seat belts, wood wheel, special GTO shift knob and a tri-power. Looks like it's all still there except for the engine.

Engine and 4spd gone. Still wearing factory paint job and stripes.
Was Special Order Tiger Gold - 97904
Sold new out of PMD Retail Store 07-631

I believe the saying is that was only for employee purchases , not the general public.
However it shipped to 02-283 , an unknown dealer in NY Zone

Seller is suggesting it may have been a Thom McAn promo car

This is the updated ad on eBay:

Quote:
1966 Pontiac GTO – Special-Order Tiger Gold – Tri-Power 4-Speed – PHS Documented – Rare Promo Car

Extremely rare factory special-order Tiger Gold 1966 GTO, believed to be a Thom McAn promotional car. This is a true Tri-Power, 4-speed example as confirmed by the PHS documentation.

The car is a roller—no engine or transmission—but has a solid frame, solid floors, and a complete interior, making it an excellent candidate for a high-end restoration or really cool driver. These color and drivetrain combinations are among the most desirable in the GTO world, and factory Tiger Gold cars are especially hard to find.

Clean title in hand.

I will not accept payment through ebay secure purchase. Cash in person or wire only.

How do you sell on eBay and not accept payment through eBay? The secure part of eBay is the transaction. I t may be legit, but I'd need to see it in person. Cool car for sure and a stunner when painted and a Pontiac 400 and Muncie 4 speed is put into it.

All 67-69 Firebirds had their tailpipes flattened oval to clear the leaf springs. The last few inches of the tips were dipped in black paint also for some reason but just on factory install, not on replacement parts from Pontiac.

There is a very clear photo of a red 69 Firebird body being dropped on the chassis that provides a lot of intel. It's readily found on the internet.
