The last time my subscribtion came due I considered saving the money but thought I would do my part to keep the mag going. Looks like I'll be saving some money. Lets face it, print media is on the way out. Sad but true.

The Barns & Noble here at our mall quit putting HPP on the magazine rack a couple of years ago. The one small bookstore I do go to on occasion carries HPP in very limited quantities. And usually they're gone by the time I get there.

Muscle Car Review is on the rack at B & N but in very limited numbers. Usually 4 copies only.

The only all-Pontiac magazine left is the Smoke Signals, published by the Pontiac-Oakland Club International (POCI).

This may be true and may be the thing that makes me more of an "old timer" but I'd just much rather hold a magazine. I'll read books on a tablet, but I just don't care for reading magazines on-line or on a tablet.

Bummer. I'm a print media kind of guy. Still subscribe to the local paper, I know subscribers have really dropped off in my neighborhood. I'm among the few holdouts. When I was a paper boy, I'd guess 90% of homes in my Philly suburban neighborhood took the Sunday paper and probably 65% took the daily. I doubt 15% of my neighbors take the paper where I live now and the median age around here is probably 50. In younger neighborhoods, I doubt anybody subscribes.

HPP runs thru Sept 2017, !

And I already subscribe to Hot Rod. So I guess I'll be getting that mag for a long time.

Feel bad for the employees. My sister is a specialty mag e-i-c. The mag titles she has worked on have undergone a lot of changes and consolidation in the past few years as they try to figure out how to remain profitable in the digital age. When she was named to her present position, she told me something to the effect that she was charged with making the digital side of the mag profitable. If that couldn't be done, she indicated they wouldn't survive.

Mags and newspapers just don't offer the immediacy most people want.

Print media definitely seems headed for the dust bin of history. And not just auto mags.

I still read the Chicago Tribune everyday plus enjoy reading a real book.

Tablets are to complicated for me, I'm still trying to figure out how to work this phone.

Technology is not all that bad, it can actually be quite useful. I've reached for my phone while under the car a few times, either to look something online or to take pictures to reference later.

Paul you let my secret out that I'm a retired phone man. This is actually a working 1946 phone in my house. The case is made of steel and the handset weighs a couple of pounds.

I've got one older than that Bill. Found this pic on the web...and yes, it works. Date stamped 1923. Wooden terminal block inside and brass ringers.
