Default 1972 Firebird Formula 455 H.O.

interesting old 'Bird here. a little hard to tell via the data plate but it almost looks like it's sporting the code 361 Cloth Inserts on the seats and door panels.....

Trim tag code 236 does mean 361 Black Custom bucket seats, cloth and Morrokide (vinyl).

I thought;
216 Black(vinyl)
226 Black (vinyl deluxe)
236 Black (cloth deluxe) for 1972?

Custom trim is different from deluxe? Still learning...

If this is close by I would go see. I sent seller some questions and we will see.

nice looking car, the ram air HO's seem to be coming out of the woodwork lately, interior looks to be in great shape if it's original

Hey, you've already got one in Sundance Orange.....

I ask the seller a few questions too including asking for a copy of the PHS. I'll post it if he follows up.

Just from the number of these that keep popping up,...it appears that the survival rate for LS5 W66's might be as good or even better than Trans ams.

They are usually heavily optioned and ended up being more expensive than a T/A.

Probably bought by an older buyer that wanted the "balls" of the LS5 without all the flashy spoilers and stripes....

Is anybody keeping track of these cars?....less than 600 over 2 years......might be an interesting project for somebody....how about the LS5 WS6 Registry?...

Is this registry safe to give your Vin to? I have not registered mine due to the fact they want the vin.

What happened to variety is the spice of life? I guess that doesn't apply to Orange cars or Orangish cars. You would be able to lead the Halloween parade....A Formula lead and chase car sandwiching the Lemans.

If you promise to post a smokey burn out video I won't bid the price up...Hah, hah, hah.

Here's a copy of the PHS. It looks and sounds like a nice car.

...I plan on registering today/tommorow and will give a heads up on what I get..my VIN is already on P.Y. and it does not bother me as I have the car title...if someone wants to build a tribute car with my VIN, more power to you...I still got the one & only

Default SUNDANCE ORANGE WITH STRIPE

the name of the color evokes the free spirit of the 60s & 70s ..that stripe (72 only?) is what really sets it all off..were stripes on FORMULAS available in 70 & 71(yes) ?....that 72 stripe definately looks the best..really not used to seeing a FORMULA with a stripe...and did the striping end for awhile, only to be revived with huge FORMULA(1976?) letters in case you did not know what it was and 2 tone paint jobs.....this car with a/c, cloth deluxe, tilt,pw & honeycombs and the fact that it looks damn complete is a bonus..park them nose to nose for a mirrors reflection..good luck!

Trim ... Order
Tag ... Sheet
-------------
standard buckets
212 ... 121 Ivory vinyl
213 ... 131 Saddle vinyl
214 ... 141 Green vinyl
216 ... 161 Black vinyl

custom buckets
221 ... 211 Blue vinyl
222 ... 221 Ivory vinyl
223 ... 231 Saddle vinyl
224 ... 241 Green vinyl
225 ... 251 Beige vinyl
226 ... 261 Black vinyl
235 ... 351 Beige cloth/vinyl
236 ... 361 Black cloth/vinyl

You can call it deluxe if you want. I call it custom because when you looked at ordering sheets, you had the option of standard bucket (in '72, Madrid Morrokide patterned vinyl material) or custom bucket (in '72, Perforated Roulet Morrokide patterned vinyl material). The other custom bucket was Potomac Pattern cloth and Madrid Morrokide patterned vinyl materials.

Depends on condition after inspection. No gauges hurts it for me. I'd guess somewhere north of $35k
