The solenoid leak is a common problem in the A-604 (41TE). Very simple to change.

While the packs do leak you want to check the cooler lines clamps right above them. You will see two rubber lines going into the trans make sure the clamps are tight. Also sometimes you can tighten the sol. pack cover. I think there are six torx try tightening them, they won't turn much maybe a 1/2 turn but it's worth a shot.

Steve ...do I need to drop the pan...it looks like there are 3 10mm bolts holding the pack in place from what I can see

It appears to be seeping leaking at the screw cover but I assume u replace it as a complete unit like the link u provided Steve....thanks ...Chris

I have checked the lines and tried to tighten the torx screws they are tight ...so looks like a solenoid pack is required.....Thanks..Salem1912

No pan removal just the three 10mm bolts. Remove the input senor and also I clean the area between the pack and trans case before you remove the pack. A can of 2+2 or cleaner will do. trans fluid will pool there and any dirt or grit will float around and may go down into the trans. When the pack is off you need to remove the old gasket be careful not to get anything in the small holes. Whole job may take 45 min. to a hour.

Chris FYI when the above doesn't take care of the leaks I replace the pack. I do know that the Cottman Trans shop we deal with rebuilds them though, so the gasket between the sol pack and the black plastic might be available so where.
