Do you think, 2854, would of been used on car without ac? That is only #, shown, for W 72?,

Mine had the C60 (Air Conditioning) and C49 (Defroster, Electric Rear Window) and am pretty sure it had the '2854 alt. (63A), but I can't find if I wrote anything down. The distributor was a '3315 with a Jan. '78 code (04C build vehicle).
If it was used on a non-A/C vehicle, somewhere on the invoice it would show it (K81).

I'd say highway star has the correct alternator for his car.

Only if it was ordered with the high output option (alternator).

The 2485, 2486 and 2854 were used on the W72.
(depending on other options)

i know this is an older thread John but I was wondering if you could tell me what would be the correct alternator for a 77 SE 4 spd W72 with ac but no power windows, locks or window defrost?

Sorry I didn't see this until HFR linked this.
Hope you're still around.

The 1102486 is probably the alternator for this TA.
