9798235?

I don't see why not - I picked up the same rear out of a WT 400 68 years ago that was special ordered that way. When I pulled into the guys driveway he had just torched off the front horns of the frame because somebody else wanted the disc brake setup - it was a special order convertible frame under the hardtop car.

Not with factory AC. Have never ran across documentation of even a 3.55 in a factory AC equipped A-body.

many Pontiac 8.2's were swapped out over the years. Before learning how to set up differentials, I used to pick up half a dozen posi 8.2 Pontiac rears a year. Nearly every one of them went into a GTO whose owner wanted a "better" ratio and whose car had a high ratio 2.78 or 2.93 rearend. Also dealt with multiple dozens of owners who had blown up their gray iron 8.2's. Even picked up numerous nodular 8.2 housings and well worn 4 pinion carriers that gears were busted up.

no 3.90s from GM with a/c, warranty issues would be massive

I was surprised to find that rear in there. Realized it was a posi when I picked up the car but was expecting to find higher gear ratio.

Sorry, missed the A/C part - reading too fast.

Roger & Mark caught it and gave the correct answer.
