Default 68 1bbl Engine

Not mine! Another shame and waste of a good core motor tossed onto the pavement crushing the oil pan. Busted up parts, bent here and there and no oil tube or cap. If he would take it apart and sell the parts separately he would make good money but lazy people always refuse to do it.

WOW! Holy Smokes! This 1bbl motor is up to $450 and I doubt anyone has checked the delivery costs to get it from the lowest part of the great state of Texas to wherever the bidders are. For fun I checked to my place in Texas and the shipping costs were quoted at $500.

Wow just wow!

Looks like shill bidding to me. 1bbl engines do not bring that kind of money normally. Either that or someone wants this one real bad. I am putting my money on the first guess and will be relisted.....

Well it got jacked to $715 and no sale. Let this be a big warning to anyone wanting to buy this thing. It is in Laredo Texas which is on the border waaaaayyy down south. Outside of the power steering bracket and pump there ain't nothing special about this motor. More importantly its missing the oil fill tube so my guess is that everything is rusted permanently shut.

I paid 800.00 for the one I got out of 68 Firebird a 1 BBL no power steering or Alternator bracket and 100.00 shipping back in August of 2012, before I really knew about these forums, and Yuku.

If the 1bbl engine is a very good runner than that price is not bad. ($700 or $800) If it is a boat anchor, as the one shown on EBay, then that is not a good price.

I paid $200 for one in good running condition. No power steering though.

I have a general rule of thumb, if I cannot hear the engine running I'm not paying more than $300 for it.

BOTH OHC engines I bought were "runners", both had trashed cam's, but probably did run. The 250 appeared to have even recently been rebuilt even, though there were some goofy things about the rebuild. My guess is both probably backfired a bit from the cam wear.
