The black deuce belongs to Ralph Hardesty and like David said is so freaking clean you could eat off it....very fast too!

Tony/Billy's goat has been out and laid down some 4.xx passes but they aren't making Norwalk this year.

That usually means it will be a good show. Going out to test one more time before Norwalk.

Good luck to both...but I'm surprised that noone on this board has been to the track and seen either of these 2 cars run with their new combos. Someone needs to spill the beans. I'm not going to make it up this year but if someone wants to put some laps on my car...it's sitting in Cleveland. Of course you would have to split any winnings $$$.

Jack really has little to prove with his deal. Sounds like he is solidly in the 7s and the engine is back running properly.

Questions are: Will Dick show? How fast can he really go round after round? Will he run faster than a SB Ford on NOS ran in 1998 at the same weight?

Looking forward to hearing the after race results.

Default Norwalk

With great regret, I have to announce that we will not make Norwalk this year. I know this “showdown”between Jack and myself has generated a lot of pre-race hype, anticipation, trash talking and wagering, and no one is more disappointed at this point than I am. But there have been a number of unscheduled gremlins, flat out failures, and uncooperative weather that have pushed our target dates back. Granted, we got a late start, but some of that couldn't be helped. I feel especially bad for Jim and Bill as they both had a lot riding on this project. Their help has been immeasurable though out.

Four hours of sleep per night has become the norm around here, so we are understandably burned out. Just this past week during a converter and ring & pinion swap, we found a cracked diff case. Thanks to Bill Krech for coming through with a spare, and Rob Senkyr for pitching in Thursday and Friday nights. Saturday our high zoot 16V lithium batteries took a dump at the track so we lost our test and tune window. It's been stupid stuff like this popping up at the most inopportune times. That left Sunday (today) to tow 4 hours to the only open ¼ mile track for a couple of time trials. Considering our mental and physical state, we decided to pull the plug. There is simply no reason to tow 14 hours to Norwalk with a car that is not ready. We will get this sorted out – just not this week.

Yes, we are frustrated and really bummed, but we realize that Norwalk will go on with or without us – we're really not a big deal. Good luck to all going and stay safe.

It's no problem Dick. I said in another post that it would/is a lot of hard work for cars of this caliber to get them squared away in such a short period of time.

Good luck to you and your car it has always been impressed with how nice your car looked and ran.
