He could prolly get 90K for that at the Barrett-Jackson lawn mower auctions.

The Bob Villa connection is funny - on the job, calling somebody Bob Villa is NOT a complement. That poor guy wouldn't know which end of the hammer to use if you handed it to him!

Why would a mower with less than two hours on it need a new carb?

My Craftsman is 25 years old. Still runs strong. Dose that make it a classic?

The problem with Craftsman was not their motors but that the pan design was worthless - if the grass is even slightly damp it is clump city

Dittos. The one I owned would clump grass unless it was absolutely dry. Its blade design left a lot to be desired as well. I had to replace the blades any time I hit a twig.

The ethenol gas deteriorates the rubber diaphrams in those Briggs carburetors. They won't run worth chit after that. But actually, all you have to do is replace the diaphram. |

I inherited a lightly used Craftsman riding mower from my late stepfather and I have to replace something on it nearly every season.
Last spring the hood fell right off onto the ground. Both hinges snapped. This is the 4th or 5th item on it that has actually broken, including the entire front crossmember that holds the spindles in place. The gas tank split one year and it's one thing after another it seems. No engine problems though...
