proper 2 channel riaa input
but And however and we go through this with our car radios and 8 tracks most ole recievers need to be re capped

that said they do sell an adaptor not sure who and what brand to interface an ole turn table riaa to mate with modern reciever
and for what its worth turntables can each model brand sound great or awfull
my reccomendation for a great all purpose turntable -a technics 1500mk II
use a DJ cartridge -lacks super sensetivity it has greater output
by vertue doesnt sense the minor scratches such said records
and greater output sounds more ballzy

Interesting. My first set of electrostats were Quad EL57s

Hauled in a Hammond M-2 tube organ, oiled it up to excellent condition. Not vinyl but has sure been recorded onto vinyl.

I'm hooked now. Picked up a Marantz 2220b and a Dual 1245 for the office for a circa 1977 setup. Have it perched on top of our beer fridge next to the bar for now

setup

Stopped in @ a local Barnes & Noble brick & mortar location last week and noticed they had a vinyl LP display with many vintage labels / groups offered in new pressings. Almost pulled the trigger on a "Rage Against The Machine" clear vinyl w imprinted image...almost; thought of all in the library already not listened to...time to break more of them out and take 'em for a spin!

I need a wooden case for the receiver to really get the 70's effect, but they're kind of pricey.

I'm a little bit of a snob when I record shop. I've been avoiding the reissues in favor of early pressings unless it's something I can't find. I guess it's nostalgia - I like the personality and history a used record has. My brother thinks I'm crazy - he'd rather have a fresh copy. That said, the reissues I do have sound pretty good!

Thumbs up

Spinning Steely Dan Gaucho LP now, can't remember if I've mentioned this here on this thread before but it sounds excellent and just happens to be another I Sound Guard treated (on 01/21/1981! ) and, respectfully sorry to all the "purists" following here, I'm playing it back on good old Yamaha RXV-1000 thru 6-channel surround via Boston's/Bose/KLH Powered Sub...and it's better than playback from Pandora etc.

BTW - I just found this while playback and posting here about the Gaucho's mural and album cover art (below) enjoy:

I had a real good power surge during an electrical storm that took my power amp out in my big system. So not much happening right now until I get it back. Sure getting a bunch more work done though.

Sorry to hear about that surge damage...fortunately I remembered to turn off power to the auto detect Sub before electrical storms and other equip connected to surge/pwr handlers escaped except refrig when a "brown out" or "spike" happened while I was nxt to it...and the fridge cycled off for 1/2 second, came back on and compressor started knocking and banging loud like and engine rod knock! I reached in to turn it off and it wouldn't shut down...so I turned controls back to normal and it smoothed out and is running as if nothing happened...and I wouldn't have know if I hadn't been here @ time. FWIW - it's a vintage Kenmore 19.6 I've rebuilt and serviced over the yrs that keeps on ticking...like an old Timex! "he posted while ELO 'can't get it out of my head' played on vinyl in th background"

Another reason to like vacuum tubes huh. Hope it's an easy fix. I've got tested 150 Watt PNPs & NPNs around if you need some.

That's what's going to happen before too long ... a VAC 160i.

He acts like this is cheap, but at over $10k it's pretty pricey to me

Default Latest Playlist

Latest Playlist. Hadn't heard McCartney since I last had it on vinyl 1972 or so. It holds up well, warm sound. He played all instruments. Cry of Love is not Hendrix's best, but has two of my favorite Jimi songs, Angel and Freedom. Simon and Garfunkel Hits one is just great. They had broke up by then, I think were pressured for an album, if memory serves. Snuck some new with the old on it. Europe 72 is Whacky Dead at their zenith.... fun.

Progressive psychadelic huh. Seems 1000 different such albums came out in 1970 alone. As if funded by an organization bent on changing a nations culture.
