10 bolt rear end
im looking for a limited slip unit for a 10 bolt 323 but on the wanted ad on this forum there is a member that took the unit out of a 355 10 bolt rear end but we are not sure if it will fit the 323 any help will be appreciated

A carrier from a 3.55 isn't going to fit. The Low ratio Pontiac 8.2 carrier fits:
3.36, 3.55, 3.73 (aftermarket), 3.90, 4.10, 4.33... 5.57 Mid ratio carrier fits: 2.93, 3.08, 3.23 Pontiac 8.2 10 bolt gears. Most common Pontiac 8.2 gears including all aftermarket Pontiac 8.2 gears use 3/8 RH thread ring gear bolts. Very late '69 model Firebirds and '70-72 A & GP Pontiac 8.2 10 bolts used 7/16" thread LH thread ring gear bolts. Needing the later style Safe-T-Track carrier, can have the ring gear bolt holes opened up on an earlier style low ratio carrier or on a new carrier.

What year did the carrier come out of?? I went from a 3:08 to the 3:73's that are in my car right now. Mine is for my 73 GTO with the new style carrier with the bigger axles & the 8.5 carrier.

I understand it's not an 8.2 but again I ask what year is the rear end & what did it come out of. As I said if it's the newer 8.5 that is in the cars from 73 up you can swap the gears to the 3:23's into the carrier from the 3:55's as it will support it. But if it's an older carrier rear end then it may not work, but again let me know which year & rear end it is if you know. ???
