Default Apparent visit from the gremlins- no power anywhere in the car

Sunday I had a productive morning and installed my valance and parking lights. All of my lights worked then and I had power though the vehicle.

Today, Installed my rear lamp harness and reconnected the battery- nothing.

I have power to the starter, which I also replaced today in addition to rebuilding the engine harness because I found this mess under the wire loom

Now I'm stumped. I didn't change anything since Sunday(wiring wise)

Does all the power get routed through the horn relay like a Chevelle or Camaro. Are there fusable links anywhere?

This happened after you changed the starter?

Looks like the battery cable on the starter shorted out.
With that connection should have been a wire that ran to the alternator.
(the big wire connected to the alternator)

There is a fusible link probably in that harness you're holding by the valve cover.

From the big wire at the alternator it goes to a junction in that harness where other wires branch off with most going to the fuse box area.

Could be any possible reasons, need more info and/or pics?

I discovered the fried battery cable when I was trouble shooting. It powered up and ran fine previously

I replaced and essentially built a new harness using the old mess as a guide. Still nothing

Well, something wasn't replaced right?

What year is the vehicle?

Main thing is there a big wire from the alternator post to the battery cable?
(either via the starter or horn relay)

Then from wherever it goes, does it go to the fuse box on the firewall?

Since this is the 68-69 section, here is a 68 wiring:

I used this diagram and replicated a lot of what I already had, replacing bad wires. To the starter, I have a positive battery terminal, and a wire from the block that is purple(?)

And... where is the horn relay/door buzzer located?

What I started with-

Oops. a little research showed that the horn relay is mounted above the brake booster. I have a wire running from the alternator to the middle terminal

I didn't touch the front light harness beyond connecting the park lamp harness into it.

And holy cow, it was pure misery wrestling the starter into place with headers. wow

So, 1969 A-body then?

Look at this schematic.
I wrote on it where you need to check for 12 volts:

Wow, Thank you!
Instead of dropping the starter and running from the opposite terminal on the solenoid, can I run a wire from the alternator to the battery?

Yes.

But might be better to run it to the horn relay.
(but make sure the other wires are still soldered/connected together at that joint)
